The Jinx

When Eddie Lebec starts to lose games for the Bruins, the bar test the theory that he fell apart shortly after starting a relationship with Carla. It is determined that she is the jinx. Meanwhile, Diane continues her insufferable tenure as chair of the jury in the attempted murder case. She is driving her fellow jurors crazy. It all comes to a conclusion.

"It's not Romeo and Juliet, but it has a certain charm"

This gets a bit of a bump from the first part, mostly because of some crisp dialogue. The gang is fully convinced that Carla is jinxing Eddie and are unsure how to tell her. As Frasier points out, it's a self fulfilling prophecy, and Carla's own superstitious nature doesn't help.

Meanwhile, Diane's jury duty story winds down, and of course she doesn't get the verdict she wanted. There's a coda to this plot, which suggests Diane might have been more right than she thought.

But in the end it's the dialogue that raises this one a point. The debate over who has to tell Carla ends with Woody delivering a Coach-esque punchline ("Oh, damn. I've never been to Europe.") that suggests there's still a bit of life in this series.

Anecdotes
Bill Grand (the man accused of attempting to kill his wife) is played by the obscure character actor Brent Spiner. Seven months after this episode aired he would become a household name as Data on Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987); a role that he would play across several Star Trek series for some 36 years.. He would also have a one-episode appearance in season 10 episode 13 of Frasier as Albert, the airline passenger and fellow melanin-deficient with Lilith (Bebe Neuwirth).

Gaffes
The case on which Diane is serving as foreman ends because "Mrs. Grand is dropping the charges" against her husband. But it is a criminal case, attempted murder, not a civil case. The victim can neither issue nor drop charges in a criminal case.
