Writers really went for the ghoulish angle.

The episode raises the question of the Munsters appreciation of morbidity versus the finer things of life. There seems to be a fine line where they enjoy both. Most of the comedy was a tad on the forced side. Though, still mildly funny. Funniest scenes were when the crooked real estate agents exited in a speeded up frenzied scared state. Then, the "there's no place like home" ending with all the special effects was quite good.

Gaffes
In the first scenes of the episode, when Lily walks in the room, she's not wearing her iconic necklace with the bat-shaped medallion. In the same sequence, after a cut to Grandpa, the necklace appears.
