Jeers from the cheap seats

Never a good thing when your dad shows up to your first day on the job, throwing out insults and doing his best to throw you off the game. Fun storyline and good guest stars.

Anecdotes
This episode was originally filmed with Shelley Hack as the new public defender, intended as the replacement for Season 1's Paula Kelly. However, she was fired, Markie Post was brought in, and the episode was refilmed. Because Post was committed to Le cascadeur (1981), Ellen Foley was cast as the public defender for the rest of the season. Post joined the cast in Season 3 and stayed there for the rest of the series.
