"Dynasty Reunion: Catfights and Caviar" was a fun reunion with some members of the cast: Linda Evans, Joan Collins, Al Corley, Pamela Bellwood, Gordon Thompson, Catherine Oxenberg, Emma Samms, and finally, John Forsythe. "Dynasty" was a fun, over the top show, and the cast seemed to really enjoy their reminisces. They also seemed to have a genuine fondness for one another, which was nice to see.
A couple of things one wonders about, not the least of which is why ABC didn't air this show since Dynasty was an ABC staple for 11 years. The second thing is, why does Linda Evans look as she does? One would think these actors could afford the very best surgery, yet Evans and Al Corley, once a beautiful man, looked beyond dreadful.
I wouldn't want to see Joan Collins when she wakes up in the morning, but boy, can she still pull it off - and she's a good deal older than 61-year-old Evans.
John Forsythe came on only at the end, which someone questioned - the man is 88 years old. God bless him, he seems in good health and in possession of his faculties - two things to be cherished. But I doubt he had the stamina to do an entire taping.
It's a pity and not understandable why John James refused to be on the show or have clips of him shown. There was a talk show some years ago on which Linda Evans and a couple of other Dynasty people appeared and James was involved then. Wonder what happened.
It was great to see the Moldavia Massacre, all the catfights, Krystle's double, and the clothes. I still remember a blue gown slit up the front that Linda Evans wore.
Evans and a few other ladies in the '80s made being in your forties very fashionable. If I sound like I'm dishing her now - well, it's Dynasty, you know, and it brings out the Alexis in all of us.

I saw "Dynasty Reunion: Catfights and Caviar" the other night, and here's what I liked and did not like about it, among other things: PRO: The title sequence, in which each cast member is shown in a "before" clip from the original series, then the cast member's name comes up, and then a current picture of that cast member (showing what he/she looks like in the Reunion) is shown. They did this for each cast member, even for those who only had clips (Bellwood, Coleman, and Samms).
CON: I did not like that Johnny F. (John Forsythe) did not appear himself until the end of the program, although he did the narration and a couple of interview clips, and appeared in a few of the scenes that the others talked about. I also did not like that it only lasted 1 hr. that Tuesday night (5/2/06). I would have liked 2 hrs. on a Friday for it, just like they did for "Knots Landing Reunion: Together Again".
I'd like to hear what you think! 8/10

I watched this special, thinking it would be as bad as that TV movie that was made..yuck! But I was surprised to find it a nice trip down an 80's memory lane. I must admit only Joan Collins looked like she has aged extremely well. It was great to see John Forsyth on screen. Although slowed with age, he still has that great voice. the show had some great clips of the cat fights and Blakes' great show of anger, at his son, Krystal and, of course, Alexis.
One of the nice touches was to hear the Dynasty theme in its complete form. I had not heard it since the series went off the air. And yes, I was at the "Wednesday night Dynasty" parties!!
If you get a chance to see it, do. It is worth the time!!
