Actually not a bad Zombie Flick, but not too Good Either
A lot about this movie was hammed up/ hyped up in the media. It did have a couple well known actors in it fer sure, but only 2 or 3 at most.
Aside from that, it has a number of tropes in it that people will recognize from zombie horror, and combined with the action and gore and elements of the undead at times, it was a pretty decent film.
That being said, the drawbacks, thoguh few, happened frequently enoguh to deter from what could have been a more spectacular zombie film to add to the genre in a memorable way.
One thing that always drags down zombie and horror in general: TOO MUCH TALKING.
This is what mad the Walking Dead show go from a great cool unique watch, to another survival drama that only sometimes amped things up.
Army of The Dead has waaay too many scenes of nedless conveersation instead of more cool or even campy risks taken with the zombies and gore.
All around the film is a 6/10 because of what worked for the genre of film involving a bit of action and the undead, but it just barely slid by with that score at best.

Annoying
The story is somewhat taking, but the daughter is just very annoying that it makes me angry.
Good concept, bad writing, and terrible characters
I'm not usually a fan of Zack Snyder's movies, but I do enjoy his visuals from time to time - maybe he should just stick to directing and leave the writing to those who know how to actually write a good movie with some interesting characters because this movie is just downright bad.
Seemed like it could be a mix of Zombieland, The Expendables, and Oceans 11, but it does not measure up to any of those! :-(
Some cool action and limited humor do not make up for crappy characters, crappy dialog, and a crappy story! :-(
Too slow
2.5 hours of this is way too much. Dumb conversations unfunny jokes and bad acting. Zavk Snyder, why man?
Le saviez-vous
- AnecdotesDave Bautista never actually met Tig Notaro, even though in the finished film they appear alongside each other in several scenes. Notaro was inserted digitally.
- GaffesMartin tells Lilly (The Coyote)"I'm gonna go kill that dumb*** pilot now that she fixed the chopper and fly myself out of here." then proceeds to go to the ground level and out the front doors of the casino, but the helicopter was on the roof and there was no reason for him to be going outside. And since Martin had knowledge of the casino, there was no way he'd be lost and accidentally wander outside.
