Yay! Katie's home.
This whole film was stupid. She walks in the house - not a spoiler: a) it's in the first 5 minutes b) it's in the trailer c) it's the plot of the movie -- obviously traumatized, but the mother kept hanging on her. I get it; she was afraid her daughter was dead and was so happy to see her alive. At the front door. But Katie was seriously in shock. Btw, Sierra McCormick's acting as Katie was good. She had so little to work with but she did well with what she had. And I feel like I kept yelling at the screen for Janet to stop touching Katie. And the brilliant therapist starts the first session with can you tell me who took you. Really? First question out of the gate is that?! Ugh. Whoever wrote this has not seen real trauma up close. I'm grateful they've missed it, but dang it showed in this
My main complaints are the direction given and stupidity of the plot. Save us from Lifetime Movies!

I'm not finished watching this movie as of this review but I am going to finish because I want to see if my theory is correct. However it is so stupid. The parents in this movie are especially annoying; I don't know if it's the character development or bad acting. It's infuriating that they're both idiots. I GET denial, wanting to be in control & wanting to protect a child but these characters UGH .. again STUPID. Even if the characters are pretending to be idiots it's still annoying.
This was the absolute worse movie I have ever seen. The acting was so bad I got a migraine. Unless you are really into bad acting films I can't see why anyone would watch this.
One of the worst movies I've seen. Acting was horrible. Storyline could have been interesting but I couldn't get past the acting. Katie not speaking really bugged me. Not worth the time I spent
This was so boring yet annoying. The girl doesn't speak for almost the entire film, she just walks around sulking with her head down like samara from the ring. The mother was annoying and the girl I didn't even care about. We discover the whole thing could have been avoided had the girl not stuck her nose into other people affairs.

- GaffesEarly in the movie, Katie runs upstairs into her room and climbs into bed. Her mother follows to check on her, and leaves the bedroom door open when she leaves. When she goes back downstairs, old family friends immediately appear at their front door. Emilia, Katie's childhood friend, then goes upstairs to visit Katie. At that point the bedroom door is closed. Katie appears too traumatized to have gotten out of bed to close the door herself.
