I saw this as part of the children's animation screenings at the Satisfied Eye International Film Festival and it was one of the highlights of the day. A beautifully realised piece of filmmaking that works on so many levels, the children were in awe while many a parent shed a tear or two. A visually rich and inventive film. Clever, sweet, and deceptively simple while multi-layered - much like its animation - it beautifully deals with mortality, death and loss. Its poignancy lingers long after the final credits have rolled and this is clearly a filmmaker to watch.

Simple, a great short animation film about childhood , discover of death, relation grandpa- grandson, a precious gift and happiness in simple and touching and convincing and heartbreaking manner.

One of the essential source for all the flavours of childhood are the materials used for craft this beautiful stop motion short film, from cardboard to wool, cotton balls, felt. The coats of cardboard, used for heads, the coats of paper used for hands of grandfather, the kite and the clouds are basic virtues for the emotions inspired by every scene. In short, an affective masterpiece, a gorgeous image of death and loss and acceptance.

A wonderful short film with unique animation and style which is nicely intertwined with the story!
