Is Karthik subbaraj too over hyped? I realised after petta second half when the story beautifully built went down the drain. Again the same thing with jagame, only glimpses in the first half and second half totally gone down the drag. He does not know how to continue the premise and finish. Karthik you are really over hyped and j will stop expecting your movies to be good anymore.

Dhanush and Aishwarya are the only saving grace. Liked cosmos.

The movie is a mass appeal commercial movie so if you like watching those kind of movies it would be enjoyable. The beginning is a bit slow but sometime at the mid point the pace picks up.

Do not watch the movie expecting much logic or a moral appeal. It's one of the movies which justify one criminal as morally superior over the other.

Another thing good about the movie is the styling which really stands out.

The movie is a decent entertainer with a subtle message of anti-racism within the India.

It will not really appeal to people at an international level, if that was the purpose. It still seems to cater to the local Indian audience.

First of all the hangover of the movie makes me feel do I really need to write a review for this movie.

🔥 The name of the movie itself is impressive very thoughtful.

🔥 The message they are trying to convey 🔥 Cinematography: this is some next level stuff should be in the top 🔥 Music (was Searching bhujji song tho 😂 good it's not there) 🔥 Cast: Dhanush did a Dhanush, that Peter did a kollywood wellakaran perfectly, the best of all is that sivadas actor could have given more screen time he nailed it, surprisingly heroin also good (worst one puluthi kulandai)

💤 Story and screenplay: the KS struggle continues from Petta, it felt like two different movies the 1stbhalf and the second half and the screenplay was boring af. Could feel that alot has been cutout but this still feels draggy. Couldn't complete it. The change in hero's nature is abdrubt too(will explain). Predictable continuety issue and etc .............

Even tho it was great in the technical side KS missed the deciding factor ;story and screenplay.

Nice movie but it would have been better, it remains me of peaky blinders in some frame but it's ok.

It should be noted that the United Kingdom is one of the few countries that accept refugees from war-torn countries. It should be clear that no one can compel a country to accept refugees and grant them equal citizenship status. We should also understand that London is multicultural, and people from all countries live there in harmony. Acceptance in a foreign land is based on the immigrant's educational qualifications, skill set, and cultural integration. Now, let's talk about this film:

The director appears to have never visited or lived in the United Kingdom, let alone 'East Ham,' which is predominantly Tamils, and it is clear how Mr. Karthik Subburaj is confused. It should also be noted that many Tamils (Srilakans) who live in the United Kingdom are wealthy and contribute to the country's welfare. This film portrays all Tamils in the UK as illegal immigrants seeking refugee status, which is untrue.

The United Kingdom nor the United States were not involved in the Elam war, and we all know what happened. Let us not bring in the British invasion, the Mughal invasion, and so on.

Let's look at the 'Bomb drop drop' scene in Srilanka: what were these Tamil people doing before and after the war? They were mostly farmers and unskilled laborers. After the destruction, they want to flock only to a wealthy western country instead of rebuilding and forming a strong government. This film normalizes illegal immigration (clandestine) and calls it racism if the UK does not accept them.

Let us be clear: no country, not even India, Sri Lanka, or Malaysia, wants unskilled immigrants. Period

Mr. Karthik Subburaj needs to understand acquiring a gun in the United Kingdom is nearly impossible due to the strict laws. Even ISIS rehabs target unwitting bystanders with knives.

One thing which is missing in this movie is 'POLICE' - 'COPS'

Where are they? There are crimes and violence everywhere, but there isn't a single police officer or investigation. Mr. Karthik Subburaj must understand that London is one of the heaviest guarded cities in the world. There are CCTV cameras everywhere, and people are monitored 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

It is unthinkable for a guy wearing a veshti with frozen balls to go on a rampage in London. I'm sorry! Impossible.

That character, 'Andrea,' an illegal immigrant, gets a job as a bar singer. Oh my goodness, Karthik Subburaj knows a thing about 'National Insurance number? And she gets bodyguards too ROFL

When Suruli was shot, no cops arrived, but an ambulance took him to the hospital and discharged him with IV saline to rest at home. This will never happen, even in Silukuvarpatti. Where are the cops and the investigation?

This film was made to appease the Sri Lankan Tamils, but it lacked logic and understanding of foreign policy. Acceptance in the West, I contend, can occur only if you are educated, skilled, and talented, not because your country is war-torn. PEACE.

Jagame thandhiram half engaging entertainer .

Dhanush acting was superbb.

Both vilans characters are not good write.

Sana Music was good hero and vilan bgms rocking. Movie was good start but bad end .

First half was good but second was worst.

This not look like Karthik suburaj film.

Refuge's scenes are boring .And movie too long.

Only watching dhanush .Final verdict is "AVERAGE".

Directors after 3-4 movies, take audiencr for granted and deliver any crap. When a movie is good ppl like your style; if movies isn't good nobody is gonna appreciate your style... Nothing worth mentioning about movie.

A movie to address the pain of eelam tamil people and refugees all over the world in a mass stylish and commercial way. Worth the watch. Go for it...

I rate 6/10 .

Routine story .

Nice concept of Tamil rasism in srilankan concept ,same as of family man 2 .

More time span Not as expected as petta elevation.

Slow story ,no twists (one but very small) Bujji song removed 😏😏!!

Poor integration of local gangsterism in a foreign land without understanding the cultural subtleties.. it's hilarious and unbelievable!

Movie lacks purpose in the first half and forcibly brought in the second part. Not helping

Overly loud dialogues and dramatic body language by all characters missing the cold/chilling gangster ambience all across.

BGM is loud and not connected to the emotions.

Only comfortable thing is camera work but that too because watching in ultra4k 75cm tv.

Overall it's a poor attempt by the director inspired by YouTube on migration and rat/spy movies.

I understand the teams intent to go global but you may need a curators team from hollywood to visually communicate that intent and the social cause this talks about to the world.

Ambitious without expertise !

Good commercial entertainer with a strong and bold message.

This is a shady movie dhanush sir did great job the script was good all actors did a great job this movie slow burner action film waiting for part 2 .

The film basically showing that immigrants are danger to the Europe countries as they do smuggling and gangsterism.

Tamil cinema is starting to use Eela tamils as a sympathy product to sell their movies worldwide but eventually they're are causing more troubles. So ffs leave our problems in our hands we will handle them.

Karthik Subbaraj's Tamil crime drama got style over substance with overused 360-degree shots. Despite had subtle universal message about anti-racism, i guess international audience won't relate that much. Dhanush slowly progressed into charismatic swag.

Karthik should choose either entertainment movie or subject movie. Both together will not work most of the time. Just go with pakka commercial movie or just go like story based movie like Karnan...

As audience I couldn't connect to the movie and few dialogues are good. Opening scene is good. Cinematography is fine... but story flow boring predictable... as usual open ending....

Not up to the mark of expectation, as usual they used Elam issue just like that(but not shown deep route cast) - more scenes can be added to show the immigrants struggle to reach UK and their struggle living without papers... Spend more time to show the heroism scenes going away from the main content of the movie...

It's Vry interesting movie,and if u want any different story it's the 1st movie I recommend 👍👍👏👏

Karnan is for Tamil Nadu Social Issues.

Jagame Thandhiram is for the World Social Issues.

Excellent first half, thoroughly entertaining. But second half was a big drag. This was the same mistake the director did in Petta movie.

Altogether a good movie to watch.

What a waste of great actors, money and our time.

With the money used to do fake snow all over the movie they could have made a quality dhanush movie.

Liked very much. Dhanush selected much wanted messages for the people who suffered lot in life .

Director taken excellent story line and taken to next level. Music and background score nice .1st film with the family with theater effects.

Dhanush fun performance was so good to watch after maari. Story line was simple and content is good. Screenplay was slow and steady but didnt get bored. Overall enjoyed lot.

Looks like the London of this movie is located somewhere in the nation of Wadia, where there's no law enforcement and Admiral General Aladeen reigns supreme.
