Tongue-in-cheek, feature length anecdote that never lets you forget it's ostensibly a true story. That excuses a few things I guess...
By turns, casual conversation and a dynamically expressed story of survival against our fellow human (always for the dumbest reasons) the usage of animation, pseudo-public service announcement and narration make this pretty memorable even if we ignore the viciousness that is left to speak for itself against the backdrop of just another day in Africa.
The tone of quietly simmering violence is ever-present and I could not explain what the message (if any) was ever meant to be.
Over all a pretty worthy choice for an appetite of casual violence.

This is a great Movie ... This is an inspiration and Motivation to Ugandan Film Makers ....I Loved It... The beautiful scenes ,the storyline was unpredictable. I've rewatched it countless times and I highly recommend it.
It is about a true story, but most of the movie is telling a false story. During a movie there is some narrator interupting to explain some expressions, which seemed like comercials in the middle of a movie.
Ending is very simple and nonrelated to whole movie, and not explaining what happened to main characters afterwards, like it is a case in all movies based on a true story. Therenare also some mistakes mentuoned earlier in reviews, if a guy loses a finger it showa up later in a movie, and talking to a mobile phone on one ear, then from other angle showing it on tanother ear even though the character did not move it at all.

This film blew me away. A bit of Tarantino, a bit of Rashomon, in an African setting. Excellent script and acting. Directing, editing - all solid. A must watch for 2021.
Entertaining flick although while the guy was in captivity his right palm got nailed into chair but later when he sit in the car you can see he wrapped his left hand and right hand is fine. So obvious!
