In society today, it's difficult to shield our young ones from cursing and gratuitous violence, in movies, music, and the internet. Movies of decades past were wholesome with good story and didn't rely on gruesome special effects, 4-letter words every other word and blood splatter in every scene. Kung Fu Ghost reminds me of when I was watching those fun movies on TV on Saturday afternoons in my footed pajamas while eating my FruitLoops and Lucky Charms and never realizing for a moment while I was fixated on that piece of furniture with it's tiny magic screen in front of me that life outside the safety of my parent's home was often filled with things a young boy didn't need to worry about, at least until he becomes an adult. While some movie productions spend hundreds of millions on their projects and still miss the mark, Kung Fu Ghost is an exceptional independent production with a fun cast and an enjoyable story. Enjoy the fun of Kung Fu Ghost!
Kung Fu Ghost is a film with many good qualities - a unique storyline and inclusion of up-and-coming new actors that do a fair job portraying their characters.
The storyline follows a young woman named Daisy (Jennifer N. Linch) who has moved from Vietnam to California after inheriting her late grandfather's (David S. Dawson) estate. Quickly after she arrives, she discovers that the estate is haunted by the spirit of her grandfather and a ghost named William (Noah Sargent). The ghostly inhabitants vow to protect her family's secrets and special artifacts, but when treasure-hunting criminals threaten the future, she teams up with the ghosts to try and stop them.
Kung Fu Ghost is a film with a lot of potential. I like that it shows us some new talent like Jennifer N. Linch, David S. Dawson and Noah Sargent. These actors are clearly passionate about this project and it shows in their performances. Jennifer N. Linch shows fear, admiration, shock, anger, disappointment and so many other emotions. Her reactions to certain situations are realistic, which makes the audience more interested in the story. You can also tell that the actors were well prepared for their roles. Kung Fu Ghost has a few editing flaws, such as the scenes where Daisy is on a video call with her aunt. The picture of Daisy's aunt is noticeably edited onto the phone. An honorable mention is Jennifer N. Linch, who serves as the director and producer, and also plays the lead role. Not only does Jennifer N. Linch have all of these credits for this film, but she also specializes in various martial arts, which is incorporated into the film. Adding this element to the Kung Fu Ghost makes it feel more authentic.
The message of Kung Fu Ghost is to give people a chance before you judge them. Although Daisy is quick to not want anything to do with her ghost grandfather, she finds that she can rely on him more than she initially thinks.
I give Kung Fu Ghost 3 out of 5 stars and recommend it for ages 12 to 18, plus adults. Viewers who enjoy movies about ghosts and spirits may find Kung Fu Ghost particularly fascinating. You can find Kung Fu Ghost on VOD and DVD August 2, 2022. By Maica N., KIDS FIRST!

I simply do not get all the rave reviews for King FU Ghost. Is it a bad movie? No it is not but it is certainly well below average. The only things I liked are the cat at the beginning and Jennifer Linch ( Daisy) is certainly easy on the eyes. The love story between Daisy and William ( a living person and a ghost) was done so much better in Suzie Q, and the ending of the movie was taken straight from Suzie Q ( anyone who has seen both films will know what I am talking about, if you have not check it out on YouTube). The other thing is the movie is supposed to be a comedy it really isn't. It is a light drama with martial arts mixed in. Finally none of the characters except Daisy stick out for me. I give Jennifer Linch credit for writing directing and starting. For her I give 3/10 stars.
Shot in 2020 and after two years of post-production, we finally have Jennifer Linch's feature film debut, Kung Fu Ghost. Is it perfect? No. Does it need to be perfect? No. Is it fun? Yes! Linch clearly busted her butt (literally and figuratively) to get the film made as it was a passion project, having grown up watching fantasy wuxia pian and romance stuff. She also likes comedy and let's face it, it will not be for everyone. However, for a feature film debut, give Linch credit.
Going from ditzy lazy girl to kung fu warrior is quite a feat and there are some pretty interesting flashbacks and twists that keep the story going enough. Linch is a martial artist so she was able to handle her fight scenes well.
This is just the beginning of what could be an exciting journey for Jennifer Linch. I, for one, wants to see what she will conjure up next!

The love story of the film reminded me of Casper and Ghost of Demi Moore in the 90s. The fun cool fight scenes are pretty much like a Jackie chan movie in the early 80, 90s along with the pretty sick behind the scene footages at the end. Overall, the two leads are very good looking and have great chemistry. The old grandpa guy is funny . You don't see them making movies like this anymore. I enjoy it.
