So I have said this before but Tubi is literally one of my fave streaming services. I am a sucker for b-z list movies (truly my guilt pleasure) and I love free. They have been pushing out a lot of movies within the last two to three years and I have been loving them. Though some cheesy and I rate low, I still love it, ha.
This one was really different for a Tubi original. I love that! We have a live in housekeeper who gets hired for a wealthy married couple. I'm not going to reveal any spoilers but it was pretty good. It's a slow one due to build up of a lackluster reveal but it kept me interested enough. Though I don't quite understand fully the history behind the husbands secret, I don't care enough to try to.
It's a good one to watch to pass time.

Was impressed by how much the writer-director accomplished for such and indie level film for Tubi. We definitely need more directors like this one who have more subtlety and creativity than many give credit for. The set design and overall atmosphere of the film is really great. The camerawork and editing are solid and impressive in an understated way. The film reminded me a lot of Val Lewton's films that departed from standard shock shlock in many horror branded films of its time to focus on subtle human drama with a backdrop of horror. Really enjoyed Denise Richards in this role as well. Easy to hate on a film like this but we desperately need to stop comparing films like this, which are opening the way for new and talented directors with very small budgets, to films with exponentially larger budgets.
A young Latina maid discovers that her rich and well-connected employers are hiding a family secret. "The Housekeeper" is strong on atmosphere and effective at characterization thanks to some good acting by the principals and a gothic enough setting to inspire unease in the viewer. Unfortunately the film's ultimate, rather predictable revelation is too clichéd (and too dimly lit) to justify whatever buildup its creators invested in it. They seem to have striven for classic (if well worn) horror tropes, and succeeded after a limited, less than nightmarish fashion. But that's a little unfair - most of "The Housekeeper" is intriguing in its own right, and if audiences aren't amply rewarded for their time, neither should they feel cheated.
I can't believe I watched this whole movie. After I started it, I figured might as well. Keep going. Not much is explained the acting is terrible and so is the story . Denise Richards is not a good actress and with all the plastic surgery she even talks differently. I feel like I was watching a lifetime movie. The ending is rushed and still left me not sure of what actually happened. I would definitely skip this one. There are a lot of better movies on Tubi so don't waste time on this.
Don't know what else to say, but my review is too short to post. I think the woman who played the housekeeper was the best actor in this film. Really dumb and a disappointing ending.

Tubi has some interesting titles. This one was interesting.
It kept me wanting to know what was going to happen.
The ending was ok and strange but I liked the film overall for it's atmosphere. It was like a throwback 90s thriller, so it was a sort of tongue and cheek wink and nod at that old genre.
The acting was pretty good. Ilean Almaguer was the best.
Of course Denise Richards was good as well. It's nice to see her in more movies. I hope we see more of her.
Overall, it was an interesting, weird, throwback film, that wasn't perfect but I enjoyed it for what it was. I liked how it was a sort of throwback vibe to the old thrillers. Thumbs up.
