Not sure why people feel the need to watch this just to complain about the "woke agenda" after. You can tell from the get go that this is going to be a diverse, female-centric show. If that's not your thing just watch one of the gazillion other shows featuring shallow pretty girls and all white casts, there really is no shortage.
Aside from that, pretty funny show with relatable characters that touches on some serious issues without getting too preachy. Good lighthearted entertainment to binge in a day or two.

As a current college student myself it's really nice to see tv show finally made about us rather than high schoolers. With that being said, is this show perfect, no but I very much enjoyed it nonetheless. The main issues I had were with dialogue that at times shows that this was a show written by millennial rather than gen z aged college kids; and the believability that this is a real college environment particularly in the wardrobe choices and even how the sorority recruitment went. But if you don't care about those things then this is a really fun show! The characters are flawed and relatable young adults and I was definitely watch the next season!
I wasn't sure at first if I was going to like this, but then I was hooked by episode 4!! Loved the character development and where the story is headed. Hopefully will get picked up for a season 2!
We blasted through ten fabulous episodes of Mindy Kalin's "Sex Lives of College Girls." Great cast, great scripts, fun dialog, and solid episodes. Sherri Shepherd kills her character as a Senator and mother of one of the girls.
I loved the four main characters, their very different personalities and it was fun watching them develop and become friends. There isn't one actor who doesn't fully realize their role no matter how small. I also loved that there were real problems that needed to be worked out. Looking forward to season two. Solid entertainment.

It reminds me so much of sex education, not to bring up a debate on which is better because you should be able to like both shows but of course it's hard not to compare with similar titles. I'd say this is more like a sitcom version to sex education. Everything that happens in the show seems like a genuine representation of what happens in real life, but sometimes the dialogue seems short lived so you move on from it quickly, but that's understandable considering the runtime is only 30 minutes. I think it's a "surface show", despite addressing sensitive issues you can watch it without turning your brain on and have a laugh because it doesn't delve deeply into them.
Despite the bad things that happen or characters go through, it still keeps an optimistic vibe, like it's a happy show. Depressing feels like a strong word for this but it doesn't get depressing; it's not a show were the characters get sad then you get sad too. The characters are lovable, so is the soundtrack. My only problem, which isn't a big one, is it feels written, it doesn't get you immersed in the show, you don't get lost in it, like as you're watching the show you actually do know you're watching the show consciously and subconsciously, and usually shows like that don't leave a lasting impression. I've never been able to properly explain this but sometimes you'll thoroughly enjoy the show then forget about it until you hear a new season's coming out soon and get excited like oh that show, I loved that show.
Buttt it's very promising, it's the type of show that could become a fan favorite if it went on for 7+ seasons and still managed to be funny all the way, like a new era of sitcoms the way the 90's or early 2000's were, without trying to be an imitation or new version of them. Unfortunately, shows easily get canceled these days if they aren't doing crazy numbers so I hope it doesn't fall into the same fate.

- AnecdotesThough Essex College is fictional, it bears some resemblance to showrunner Mindy Kaling's prestigious Ivy League alma mater, Dartmouth College (Essex is supposed to be in Vermont, while Dartmouth is in Hanover, New Hampshire--a town on the border with Vermont). "Dartmouth" and "Essex" are both place names in southern England. Filming locations representing Essex College varied over the show's first two seasons. Many first season Essex locations were filmed at Vassar College, a private liberal arts college in Poughkeepsie, New York. Season two college scenes were filmed at the University of Washington in Seattle and the University of California-Los Angeles.
