Color of the Cross 2: The Resurrection

EXCELLENT presentation of the ministry of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, the disciples and loved ones. "For ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free."

Too often history is skewed and "common sense" isn't used in interpretation. Babylon, Syria, Asia are NUBIA and consequently, the Messiah is of Nubian descent. I have seen images of Christ in Catherals that look as Jean Claude looks in this movie.

Is this movie available for purchase and will there be a part 3 soon? The venue on B.E.T. showcasing "BLACBUSTER" movies is one of the few valuable purposes of this station in the last 5,6,7 years. Feed the children the truth and open the eyes of the "blinded."

We need movies on the Armageddon~~~ the Apocalypse that is gradually but consistently developing. Perhaps this director can take the "LEFT BEHIND" series of Tim Lahaye and Jerry Jenkins and present this similarly.This was an excellent movie, it shows that if you put your mind as well as your heart into something in which you believe that you can achieve, then you can do it not matter how hard in the beginning the end results is the prize. Congratulations to Jean Claude for a fantastic family movie.

From director Jean Claude LaMarre (Color of the Cross), comes another epic film about the ministry of Jesus Christ. This daring film portrays the resurrection of Jesus Christ and his ministry after his death. After the crucifixion of Jesus, the disciples go into hiding believing their lives are in danger. They had lost all hope that Jesus would come back to them as He had prophesied. Three days after his death, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of Jesus, and other women go up to the tomb to put spices on Christ's body. They are shocked to find the tomb completely empty. Jesus' body is gone. The now frightened women go running out of the tomb, when two angels stop them. They declare to the women that Christ has risen! The women, still bewildered, go and spread the news to the disciples. Created with the same enthusiasm and astonishing interpretations as Color of the Cross, The Resurrection brings a new perspective of the resurrection and ascension of Christ.

This sequel is even worse (technically, conceptually and artistically) but also, thankfully, shorter at just 72 minutes. For one thing, about one-third of the running-time is pointlessly taken up by footage from the previous film – I do not think it was done to recap things for the non-believer, but probably that the director felt some key events from Christ's public life needed stressing...or maybe it was simply to stretch the blessed thing to feature-length!

In any case, what is inescapable here is that a number of the actors did not even bother to resume their parts and, consequently, these have been re-cast! What this does have going for it vis-a'-vis most other renditions is that it works its way around the fact that people do not instantly recognize Jesus once he resuscitates (and which always seemed a bit hard to swallow for me) by having the actor go from sporting a full head of hair and beard to a thoroughly clean-shaven look!
