I like horror comedies, don't enjoy regular horror.
There isn't much horror here, if any. A little bleeding is nor horror. The movie had some good actors, good premise but could not deliver on the "thrilling/dire need aspects of even expectations and very little "horror" too. Movie could not fully mix horror and comedy to deliver a good ride. There was definitely some interesting parts that made me smile, but it wasn't enough.
If I had to rate: Comedy: 6/10 Horror: 2/10. (PG 9, ok for kids)

This movie is (in short version) Jumanji on a lower budget. Like way lower! But there in lies the compliment. Because low budget doesn't mean low quality, cause in my honest opinion, it holds the same quality as Jumanji (the original Jumanji, not the video game Jumanji). More or less. The comedy, super funny. The drama, touching. The horror, pretty chilling. The acting, well done. So to me, this movie deserves 7 stars.
If you are film fan, you already know that one of the rarest kinds of films to stumble upon is a low-budget indie that actually delivers the goods. Especially when, as in this case, the film attempts to compete existentially with a known Hollywood blockbuster (Jumanji, on my list of 165+ best alltime films, check it out!) Especially when the credits show that the writer and the star are one and the same, usually a major red flag. Well, in this case it all comes together in a very pleasing way. The characters are relatable, the dialog is natural, and the horror creeps in slowly. A keeper.
Give it a try you will not be disappointed, it's simple but nice, good acting, good comedy.
Me and my family really enjoyed this show. It's way better than half the shows coming out these days.
I hope they make good money off of the show. Critics keep pushing the wrong movies at cinemas, this show deserve big screen.

As a whole, it's serviceable, has moments that are pretty funny (I'm guessing many didn't fully appreciate the Apolcalypto gag) and an opening about the game that promises some crazy madcap fun. But it doesn't quite get there and the film feels padded for its relatively shorter running time as the characters learn more about themselves.
I wouldn't call this horr at all. It's almost like Jumanji but for relationships and lots of flashbacks to tell a story. This is more of a comedy than anything else, by far, which is also meant to mock LA and the film and TV / entertainment industry, which it does at times. Amusing but nothing extremely standout.
It was clear to me which actor wrote the script because he has virtually all of the best lines and moments. For the most part, the actors deliver reasonably well to sell this low budget film although I felt Jon Bass as annoying and miscast. Perhaps that was the intention but that, and several moments in the film, the script felt like a script and didn't quite flow. A good example of this was the ending. Cute - but the scene leading up to it felt contrived in many ways for the sake of a setup, which was unnecessary. There are these rough moments throughout, including a disjointed dance scene that didn't have enough connection of the dots to be convincing. Still... there is talent in the room.
Overall I liked it, being a strong average low budget film. It's a decent, watchable single view but not one you'd have to see again for the script or the performances. Unlike most of the pandemic straight to video garbage, this was a good effort and not regrettable.
