You can go your whole opera-going life without seeing one by Janacek--especially this one--so it was a treat for me to catch it on Mezzo the other night. Elena Tsallagova as Vixen Sharp Ears and Hannah Esther Minutillo as Fox were in fine voice, and Dennis Russell Davies conducted the Opera nationale de Paris orchestra very skillfully.
