Reviewers say 'The Pack' is a reality show with mixed reactions. Many appreciate the adorable dogs and heartwarming bonds. However, critics argue it overly dramatizes and commercializes relationships, focusing on cuteness rather than genuine interactions. Concerns about dog treatment and stress during challenges are raised. The lack of mixed-breed dogs and overly sentimental portrayal of owners draw criticism. Despite this, many find the show enjoyable and a positive representation of dog-human bonds.

I never watch reality tv shows because I think they're usually a bit of a waste of time, but I like dogs and wanted a feel-good show in quarantine. The contestants are fun characters and adorable dogs from all over the U.S. The camera angles, music, interviews, and slow-mo shots are over the top and and dramatized in a way that I can see turn people off. But I've enjoyed that part and think it's hilarious! They go all over the world and it's so touching to see these people and their relationships with their dogs!
I don't know why people are saying the dogs were mistreated or stressed out. Or the owners were rich. The final three were regular people trying to win to hopefully buy a home or have a decent start.
The dogs were never mistreated and at times owners wouldn't finish because they knew their dog wasn't enjoying the task. The dogs had training to help them get used to things like unbalanced surfaces, water sports etc. so they wouldn't be frightened. They were well looked after. I'd be one of the first to turn off and do whatever was in my power to get it cancelled so it wouldn't be on again.
The owners had beautiful connections with their fur babies and the love was obvious. They adored them and the dogs adored their owners.
I found it hard to pick one team for my winner as they were all such nice people with gorgeous and very charismatic dogs with great personalities.
There were young and older dogs and owners, some were mixed breeds and some purebreds.
I don't know what people mean about the drama in the show, I didn't feel there was any drama or fake drama in it. You heard their stories throughout and some had some tough times in life.
They all got along together, bonded and shared a common interest, love for their fur buddies.
It was actually nice to watch a reality show without fake fights. Even the dogs loved each other!!
If you love dogs and want to watch something that isn't full on and overly scripted give it a go.
My husband and I enjoyed this show. The dogs were cute and fun to watch. The owners really loved their dogs and to see a great trusting bond with them. Yes some of the competition was silly and the editing was annoying at times.
But it is an easy show to watch, the best reality show really, no drama. Even if someone of their "pack" let them down, the other teammates were still supportive.
Cute show and the challenges were impressive. However, for a show all about dogs and giving back, I was disappointed to see that contestants were only "pure bred or designer breeds". It would have been a breath of fresh air to see a mix breed or two with a cute rescue story. There are a number of dogs that are mutts that need homes.
So much wasted potential. The unnecessary drama is obvious and feels insincere. If we wanted to watch a daily soap, that's what we'd watch instead.
Basic balance is missing. It's crushing for anyone who wants to watch a fair game to endure, right from the first episode. The entire thing feels boring, even if the challenges are good. You want to enjoy it and support it, because, DOGS! but soon you run out of excuses to justify wasting your time.
