This movie lives somewhere in a strange vortex between Spinal Tap, Almost Famous, Slacker, and Rookie Of The Year. It's one of those rare, not so self-serious indie movies, that is accessible and entertains without being flippant or overly avant-garde to cover up a lack of plot. Translation: Almost everyone will find it watchable and enjoyable. That said, if you're in a band or have ever been in a band, you'll find it a little bit funnier that everyone else.
The Get Lost Losers follows the band The Get Lost Losers, as their flawed, thick, and hateable yet sympathetic and reluctantly likeable charismatic front man Jason Sereno tries to take them to the top despite his appetite for self-destruction. This journey is made more complicated by the fact that the band's manager is also his girlfriend's 10 year old son, and his "son figure."
The soundtrack is packed with funny but solid classic rock songs including Your Whole Family Is Trash, Solid Lover, and F*%&ing Like Its 1970.
This is a fun and funny movie with heart. Three thumbs up!

If you've ever been in or around a band, trying to make something happen, you'll appreciate this movie.
There were only 10 IMDB reviews when we came across this movie and was rated a 9.2 so we took a chance.
Totally silly, goofy and not intended to be taken seriously. You might love it or hate it. We were laughing out loud at many parts.
Who knows, maybe years from now it will have a cult like following.

I just watched this movie last week, so maybe there's a little bit of proximity bias, but it's legit one of the funniest films I've ever seen. The chemistry between Anthony and Sereno is fantastic. And, even though they aren't perfect people, you somehow end up rooting for them. Christophe, the drummer, is hilarious with his quips. And Orly is the perfect kind of cool to offset the calamity. The roadie and the manager were also standouts. Everyone did their own thing and it really worked. I HIGHLY recommend it - been telling everyone about it!
The Get Lost Losers is half way between Spinal Tap and the Evansville music scene. Parallels the great Bandstand of Garvin Park and all the artist that have graced it. One of the largest mockumentary to date with catchy song lyrics to singalong with your trashy family. I have a feeling you will see this band rise in stardom and even try to compete with the bucket guy himself. But through and through it's a funny movie if you want to look into the craft and mindsets of people in the industry of Musical Liberal Arts. Some of the artist are parallel to local great Evansville artist such as Corduroy Orbinson and display mannerisms of our favorite Trailer Park Boys hero. The sted fest roadie and 10 year old manager provides comic relief with relatable dry humor that you can visualize at all of your local shows. At least they got paid in hot wings instead of beef jerky and vanilla Oreos. I recommend this movie to the other lost losers in our community and hope to see a reunion show from Addition By Subtraction At Parksfest 2023 as well as Get Lost Losers headlining the festival. Between the best pots and pans sounding music and wrestling matches from the band members, Evansville will not have to put their phones in bags for this band to get the undivided attention they deserve. Pay attention folks, you may even see a titty slip.

I'm what the kids call an old head. I grew up on rock n' roll comedy acts like The Monkees, The Partridge Family, and Spinal Tap. The Get Lost Losers deserve to be listed with those all-time great comedy-music projects. I was not expecting to be WOW'd.
The movie centers around four aging bandmates on the verge of walking away from their rock n' roll dreams until a surprise opportunity to perform at a big-time showcase rekindles their commitment. But they need to write a whole new catalogue of songs to impress the judges.
Anyone who's ever been in a band will love the interactions between members. I played bass in about a dozen groups and was sent back in time to those dingy practice rooms and lousy bars. The arguments about music, song structure and attitudes were very genuine.
The music is well done and isn't that modern "rock" with its aggressive vocals and chunky riffs. I'd say the soundtrack is more of a cross between Deep Purple and Journey. Or, as they say in the movie, "Bruce Springsteen on cocaine without the horns."
Character-wise, there's the angry control-freak singer, the whiny ladies' man guitarist, the wholesome drummer and the too-cool-for-school bass player. There's a roadie who often steals the show and a 10-year-old manager that brings a lot of heart to the story. The singer's girlfriend has many funny moments and their arguments were sharp.
Is this a big budget blockbuster? No. But the performances are amazing, the story is simple yet solid, and it's more entertaining than any Hollywood film I've seen as of late. As far as a movie about a band goes, you won't find a film more funny, authentic or captivating released in this century. 10/10 will watch again.
