I got a chance to see this amazing film at The Newport Film Festival and have not been able to stop thinking about and can't wait to see it again. This guy is a triple threat directing, writing & producing this film, Isaac Hirot Woofter, his amazing storytelling & direction brings these compelling characters to life. I saw this movie way before I saw the Academy Award winning "Anora" directed by Sean Baker (just learning his style) and now I think back about "Bound" and I am like wow what a incredible talent Isaac Hirot Woofter is and looking foward to his future projects. I can't for everyone to see this film!!

I was very surprised when I came across this film, and even more impressed when I heard it was a first time director.
The editing is quick, but the narrative remains grounded in the complex characters. I could see they were all messy, which I like. I hate when movies have one note characters. I like when the good guys/girls are a little bad and the bad guys/girls are a little good. It's real life!
The acting was top notch and the story and performances had me holding my breath in multiple moments and I never knew what was going to happen next. Looking forward to seeing what this director does next. Surprising.

Great acting, great story, great indie film!
Rarely do I come across an Indie film of this quality. It makes me wonder how an Indie film breaks through to the next level.
This film is very emotional and stressful, and gave me a little bit of anxiety, but it was worth it for the cathartic end. It didn't have a ton of dialogue, and makes of you really watch and listen. It definitely does not spoon feed, so if you want a movie where you can just shut your brain off and not think, this is not the film for you.
I recommend giving this movie a shot. I know I'll be looking out for whatever this Director makes next.

Saw this film at Dances with Films in Los Angeles. I like this festival because it advocates for indie film makers and doesn't showcase studio and big budget films. Many of the films tend to be young filmmakers. For this film it is their first feature. These filmmakers were ambitious and did pretty good. It has a few flaws, but I overlooked them because the overall experience was good, especially since this is their first film. Great acting overall and the editing takes a second to get use with all the fast cuts, but once I gave into the style I enjoyed it. I'm curious as to what these filmmakers come up with next.
Just watched Bound and I was so in love with it! It's one of those beautiful, intimate movies that are kinetic, but also quiet. Got to meet Director Isaac Hirotsu Woofter on the festival circuit and was so glad I finally got to see his film! I felt like I really got to know Bella through her silence. When she eventually finds her voice later in the film, it's a testament to Alexandra Faye Sadeghian's performance and Isaac that I felt like I already knew her, because you ARE her when you watch. Really beautiful subjective storytelling! The film also does a great job of letting the intimate moments breathe, but then also propelling the plot forward at the perfect points. Love, LOVE the characters, and performances all around!
