This was to be the second feature film in the franchise (following "Thomas and the Magic Railroad" in 2000) and was to be released in 2010. due to multiple production problems, the film was constantly being pushed back until it was eventually cancelled in 2015 when HIT Entertainment went out of business and sold its ownership to Mattel.
