Love Hostel

Set against the khap panchayat versus inter religion marriages the movie sets the pace from the very first frame and maintains it till the very end

Bobby Deol is the cold blooded executer of the Khap Panchayat orders who doesn't blink an eye lid to pull a trigger is after a Jat-Muslim couple played by Vikrant Massey and Sanya Malhotra who have eloped and got married. This is majorly is the plot of the movie.

The movie keeps things raw, real and unapologetic. It doesn't fall into the typical Bollywood traps and that's what makes it different from the rest of the movies made on this subject. You might be reminded of Love Sex and Dhokha though on occasions which tackled a similar subject. It will shock you on occasions and even make you uncomfortable which a movie on such subject should.

The direction is mostly good and doesn't slip much. Performances wise Vikrant is reliable as always and Sanya is average. Her character is a bit half baked compared to others and that hampers her performance. But the star of the show is Bobby Deol who delivers a knockout performance as the cold blooded killer and you would like to see more of him on screen.

It's definitely not a masterpiece but a good watch. Don't expect a typical Bollywood thriller though.

Anti climatic vague and plagiarised. Looks like someone with deep pockets and an itch to get into movie production hired whatever he could lay hands on and came up with this dud. It's fast but that's the only thing that lets you overcome the stupidity.

The synopsis can give an idea to readers that the film is about love jihad and the problems it causes for couples. The director made Gurgaon earlier which was a raw and real convincing film. The setting is authentic here too and relatable. Movie begins on a decent note and establishes tension. But the sub plot is really weak and completely details the film. Seems like it has just been put to make the film a thriller but falls flat. Bobby deol's character(looks like mix of javier bardem in no country for old men and hathoda tyagi) could have been a great villain, but what he keeps doing repeatedlt without any police action make it one of the most illogical aspects of the film. Some characters like brother, cop are nicely acted. Vikrant has acted decently and shows good range. Sanya's character could have been developed more. But, Story becomes unbearable by the end. Ending is very unconvincing and back stories don't work too. Disappointed to see this film!

Why are movies like this even made? There's nothing going for this movie, while it is directed well in some parts the storyline is nothing unique and totally bland.

Lacks substance and while the actors have done their job for their pay check, the writers have absolutely missed the mark on this and just filled it with a one-dimensional villain shooting everyone and everything in sight.

Very disappointing.

After hearing some positive reviews I sat to watch the new Zee5 release Love Hostel, but after fishing the film I'll say I'm totally disappointed. The only good thing is that it's very engaging, you'll not bore for one moment and you'll love our two leads and that's it. Now, there is absolutely nothing new in terms of story, the same old story that we all have seen from childhood.

The only difference is that they've added too much blood and violence in it & that's also not new as this is now trending. In today's time, a strong villain is not just enough to make a good film, there should be some reasons for their doings. That's the reason I didn't like any of the villainous character. Also some scenes were disturbing to watch. And lastly the climax converted the film from a below average to a bad film.

So finally, I'll not recommend this movie.
