A Song for Imogene

This film truly made me excited to continue acting after a streak of disinterest. It inspired me and made me feel deeply. The portrayal of each character was never overdone, there was always a deep complexity from the writer and the actor. The acting was wonderful and the cinematography was gorgeous. This is one of my favorite movies and I hope to act in something like it someday! I actually got to speak with the director and the lead actress and they were incredibly kind and supportive. Honeyheadfilms is definitely someone to keep your eyes on. I'm so grateful I got the chance to see this film and I encourage everyone to see it if they have the chance.

The characters feel real and familiar-gritty and deeply human. Their struggles and moments of connection are portrayed with such emotion that you can't help but see parts of yourself reflected in them. The pacing is amazing, slowly building tension until you find yourself breathless without even realizing it. It's the kind of film that doesn't just ask to be watched-it asks to be felt.

This film is so stunning!! An accurate portrait of rural southern life. The cinematography pulls you in from the very start. The acting in this film is mesmerizing. You feel like you are looking in on these people's lives instead of a performance. Fully lived in and realized characters from the entire cast. The story touches on sisterhood, loss, and heartache. Very relatable real life circumstances that so many women experience in life. This film is a great example when women's stories are given voice and life by female filmmakers the results are magic! A must watch for all indie film lovers! You will not be disappointed.
