I typically like the trapped out in the cold genre but this one is done quite poorly and cheaply. I don't doubt this was a thrilling based on true events tale to tell in real life, but this re-enactment does not do a screen version justice. It is slow, mundane, and poorly acted. The dialogue is iffy, there is no thrill, and it is long and drawn out for no reason other than to burn an hour and twenty minutes. I recommend watching Frozen (2010) over this, or even the low budget The Frozen (2012). Even Disney's Frozen is more thrilling (the abom snowman scene). Another lesser known great is Backcountry (2014) and then of course there is the mega hit The Revenant (2015) if you want to see big budget "inspired by true events". Skip this one, as it has nothing to offer.
And we wonder why America is in the state it's in. Answer? Because her citizens are sick enough to imagine such disgusting perversity as this movie. I went in blind, just thinking I'd watch a survival flick where all turns out fine, daughter and dad rekindle a broken relationship, and a timely rescue underscores the indomitable human spirit. Instead I got half promises about the above listed details and then ripped off with content that seems to have come from some junior high school kid's sick depraved and twisted mind. There is a sickness in America and her art shows it. How dare the filmmakers create this gross movie. How dare they. Shame on your sick evil minds.
This movie was utterly ridiculous! This movie makes the movie Beast look like an academy award winner. I wish they ran me over so I did not have to watch this. I want my 2hrs back. My brother in law must hate me....he highly recommended it! Thanks Joel for wasting my time. How do movies like this get written? At some.point someone has.to say....this thing is no good and throw in the towel but I guess not! The charactersin this got what they deserved for wasting my time...
I GOT OLDER by two hours. The end....what a surprise....it took a left turn for no reason. Hope to God there is no sequel. Do not for the love of God watch this.
Please do NOT watch this. For the sake of your own sanity. This movie was a waste of my time and I literally didn't even watch it fully. It was so a$$, and the ending was also garbage asf. There's one scene that actually made me nauseous, it was so unnecessary and disturbing. Literally put me in a derealization episode and now I don't feel real😭😭The ending also wasn't even rewarding. It was anticlimactic as he// and depressing, disturbing. I'd rather sit and stare at my wall for 2 hours than watch this movie again, especially that one scene. Please just don't watch this movie unless you want to suffer or something. Just go read a book instead or frolic around in a meadow. Trust me, it will be so much better for your mental state!!💀
I picked up the 2022 thriller "Frost" based on the movie's cover. It was a semi-interesting cover, and with it being a movie that I had never seen, nor even heard about, of course I opted to watch it.
Writers James Cullen Bressack and Robert Thompson put together a relatively straight forward script. However, the contents of the storyline was just too thin to properly sustain 80 minutes of movie. And that made watching "Frost" a somewhat boring and disappointing experience. Especially since the movie had a very monotonous narrative, and it was so predictable that you knew what happened long before it did.
"Frost" has a very small cast ensemble, and the movie suffered from that. Not only because the acting performances was questionable, but also because the performers virtually had very little to work with in terms of script, storyline, dialogue and character gallery. I was only familiar with Vernon Wells on the cast list, and he isn't exactly my go-to actor for entertainment.
Director Brandon Slagle delivered a movie that was watchable, but hardly a movie that made a lasting impression. And come tomorrow, I am sure that the memory of "Frost" will be swallowed up by the mists of oblivion. "Frost" is not a movie that I would recommend you to rush out and get to watch. Nor is it a movie that I will ever return to watch a second time, as it hardly could sustain the first viewing.
The ending of the movie was just a slap to the face with a cold dead fish, especially after having withstood 80 minutes of the slow paced, dull narrative.
My rating of "Frost" lands on a three out of ten stars.
