Olsenbanden - Siste skrik!

I think this movie had a good start, and the actors were decent. I'm positively surprised by John Carew's (as Benny Fransen) acting, and he did not steal the show. Also, the actors' classic references were a nice touch to the movie. Anyway, I think the story evolved quite slow, and after the first one-third part, I expected it to get a little more exciting, but it kind of repeated itself in a predictable way. This was disappointing. Generally, the scenes were ok, but quite long and non-dynamic. I noticed that this movie had a bigger budget than several other Norwegian movies, but overall, this movie did not for-fill my expectations as a good The Olsen Gang movie.

Really nothing special... i'm rewatching the old ones now and they are so much better. Shouldn't have been made. Hermansen, and Valborg actors were the worst! And John Carew is nothing in this movie.i was expecting this to be a flop and i was right. Nothing beats the good old Olsenbanden movies with the best actors! Also the story wasn't special at all. So i hope it won't be any more of these re-made movies. I think Anders Baasmo did quite a good job as egon. But the story was also quite boring i'm afraid. I think they really should stop this now and not make anymore of these pointless movies.

What made the old Olsenbanden films work was the smart mix of seriousness and subtle humor. Here, everything is exaggerated, goofy, and overly silly. The humor takes over and ruins what could have been a decent story. It feels like the film doesn't trust the audience to follow a heist plot without throwing in a joke every 30 seconds. The result is noisy and unfocused. Olsenbanden doesn't need to be "classic" to work, but it does need respect for the tone and the characters. This felt more like a parody than a tribute, and while the production is modern, the film loses the soul that made the concept unique. A shame, because it had potential.
