Web Series Review: Maigret ( pronounced May-Gray) streaming on BBC Player!!

Set in the 1950s , this series tells us about the adventures of Inspector Maigret, a famous French Detective & his extraordinary ( sometimes off the book) crime solving methods.

Rowan Atkinson as the calm and sombre protagonist... I couldn't believe it at first!! But trust me , he gets into the skin of the character so seamlessly that u will forget for a moment , that he is the same guy who has played the character of the bumbling Mr Bean in the past . Hats off to him for his brilliant portrayal of the legendary sleuth !!

This is a period crime drama and great care has been taken to recreate the ambience of France in the 50's. Well done indeed 👍!! As for Maigret, apart from his crime solving skills his soft , emotional and caring personality stands out the most setting him apart from most of the detectives of that era.

This series has 2 seasons with 2 episodes with each ep having a runtime of 1.5 hrs. Grt watch !! Highly recommended!! 👌👌

To see Rowan Atkinson in a serious role was welcomed & this show was perfect to display his talents aside from comedy. I just wish there was more episodes or some specials. I put off the last episode just because I didn't want it to end. I'm not a huge fan of crime dramas but this one takes you in & grab your attention till the very end.

If they made more of these I would be stoked. Fantastic show bad cast. Love the way it looked. BBC make more you fools!!! Why is there only 4?? I honestly liked these as much as early suchet poirot. We need more of these yesterday.

Perfect cast. Great Stories. Great novels. Like David Suchet is Poirot, Rowan Atkinson is Maigret ... This must be renewed. If it isn't it's a crime. The production is excellent ...

This was excellent, the very best Maigret of all! I never expected Mr Bean to be so very credible and serious in this role. 4 episodes were not enough, of course they canceled it because it was actually really good. Seems the crap is always renewed. So many great shows get cancelled maybe because the powers that be are really out of touch with the audience! Too bad, this was really wonderful.
