This is simply a movie that everyone should see. I gave this movie 10 stars because of the way it hit me emotionally, that I'm still thinking on it one day later, and that it's a must see. I detected some low budget aspects to this film, but the great music, scenery, emotional, action, and educational aspects make up for this. I liked this movie better than Batman v Superman which I saw just a day ago.

I work in the movies and like watching movies because I believe that the medium of drama is a much more interesting and powerful way of delivering a thought, message, or point across than a speech or written article can be.

Alcoholism, Fetal Alcohol Disorder, and drug abuse can seem like you are not living in reality. You wish it was a dream but keep waking up realizing it's not. Not long ago I lived in a wealthy household where 2 people in the extended family died of drug overdoses, one of alcoholic suicide, another I kept finding laying on the floor in emotional agony, and the kids had serious emotional problems. People think drugs are so much fun but the consequences can hit you like a ton of bricks are being dumped on you.

While the premise of the movie was interesting, the acting made it difficult to watch. It seemed a lot like the films my senior class in high school did, too scripted. The characters did not seem to show much emotion. There was also a lot of wasted time spent on scenes that had little, if anything, to add to the plot. I found myself fast forwarding through much of the movie.

It definitely was not on par with the other independent films I have watched on Netflix. It was closer to a movie one might see on a religious family channel, but did not have any "moral to the story" ending. If you like Native American culture, there is some included in the story, but not as much as I was expecting. The best part of the movie was the soundtrack.
