Despite a strong foundation on which to build, Kaapa remains a generic gangster drama despite its potential. I truly hope they don't continue filming the sequel after that disappointing climax. Although Anna Ben is the film's central character, she has a smaller role than Prithviraj, Jagathy, and dileesh pothan, who are the film's three biggest pluses. Aparna and Asif Ali were fine with the possibility that had arisen. There isn't much excitement to be had in Kaapa. The fact that it takes itself so seriously stands out as a huge flaw. The group members rarely discuss anything other than business. The weak writing makes the characters seem pompous.
Why did we have to wait until the very end for the movie to get exciting?😖
Kaapa had all the pieces to be a grand movie, it's just that the storytelling dragged and only became interesting toward the end
DELICIOUS
-Anyone watching Kaapa will definitely admire the mad drone skills of the cinematography!! It was insanely great
-An outstanding work of the lighting
-It was different to see that the film portrayed the gang leader's humanity
-Kaapa's ending was spicy as it brought all the characters to life and showed us the big picture. We were excited and wanted to see more
BLAND
-Kaapa was presented like any typical gang movie with Prithviraj being the one-man army. Basically, the entire movie was about him defeating this and that enemy without ever being injured 🙄
-Asif Ali played the role of an IT guy, but we never saw him go to work; somehow he had all the time to meet police officers and other parties
-The score was quite overpowering, so loud that it drowned the scenes...

First of all, this movie should have been directed by Venu. The material clearly demands a gritty, slow-build approach and not just a series of scenes that lead to some inconsequential set-piece. Shaji Kailas, I must say, has almost given GR Indugopan's screenplay the typical mass treatment, robbing us viewers the chance to connect better with these characters and their milieus. As a result, you get a watchable film with some fantastic shots (by Jomon T John), an occasional glimmer of hope that Kotta Madhu (a stiff Prithviraj) isn't your usual gangster, and a climax that's predictable from the get-go. Among the performances, Jagadeesh and Dileesh Pothan are solid while Asif Ali is alright. In fact, the film falters when the storytelling perspective suddenly shifts from Asif's character to Kotta Madhu. The ladies, Anna Ben and Aparna Balamurali, don't have much to do here.
Prithviraj is trying to do what b grade movies failed to do for years. Bringing down the standard of malayalam movies!
This movie attempts to play the masses, one guy beating hundreds, cool attire, etc., trying to copy the run-of-the-mill tamil masala movies. And, it falls flat!
The story had absolutely no sense. If Prithviraj thinks that cool looks, swift movements, choreographed fight scenes etc., can save the movie, he is sadly mistaken.
The movie leaves such a sour aftertaste, one really questions the sanity of the director for taking a movie in such a haphazard way!
I highly recommend that you save your sanity and precious time and skip the movie!

Watched Kaduva and then decided to give this one a try. This one failed to impress me as the previous one. Lot of scenes are quite unique and presented the gangster rivalry in different people point of view.
This movie is trying to portrait the gangster in half cooked way. It rides in some classic Malayalam cinema way for some scenes and derailed to mass elements in most of other scenes.
Looks like Shaji written the climax and started to develop the story towards that. This is not clicked in right way for the mass masala lovers, like me. Looks like it succeeded in half for both mass and class way.
