I turned it on because I love Alan Cummings. Gold right there.
But no, once it gets going, it was pure awesome. I binged it so fast. I wanted more. I rarely review things on here, but this one I want to help get the ratings/reviews/averages and get it out there. This show was so good.
There were times it was a bit too scripted; perhaps people were laying it on a bit thick. But overall, I loved every minute. I wanna be on this show, ha!
The settings, the challenges; I was yelling at the TV like a Boomer, just so into it. Drawn in from start to finish. I was never bored, I loved and hated who I was supposed to, and loved the direction of the show.
I can't wait for season 2.

One of my FAVORITE game shows - EVER!!!
SO addictive, in fact, that I had to look for more, and BINGE-watched (at the expense of being late for work the following morning), not ONLY the U. S. version, but the UK and Australian versions. It is SO good, that if I understood or spoke Danish, or if it had subtitles (and I knew where to stream it), I would immediately watch the original as well.
I was about to add that if you enjoy game shows, this is a DO NOT MISS show, BUT that statement falls short in describing what this series actually is.
This is not only a series where players compete for money. It's a whodunnit, a thriller, a mystery, a drama, a comedy ... it is excellent and addictive television.

I've been a huge fan of The Traitors since it first aired on British television just over a year ago.
I've watched a few countries rendition of this and I'm finding the American versions the least entertaining. There are 'famous reality show' contestants in it who people outside of America have never heard of. Most of them shouting over each over, trying to get their voice heard, and hoping for as much air time as they can get. It all feels elaborately staged, hammed up, and extremely fake. They even try and con the viewer into us believing they actually sleep at the castle. They don't, they are sent to a B&B each night!
It's worth a watch if you're fan. It's my least favourite out of all the countries I've have watched (UK, NZ, AUS and Canada).

Such a fantastic concept for a game show. Usually I avoid reality TV like the plague. Vapid, toxic and self-obsessed types hungry for their five minuted. However, having loved the UK version I had to give this a go. Unfortunately by episode 3 the show has given itself away as being somewhat set-up, i.e 'the note'. This didn't sit right with me and then subsequent events became somewhat predictable. Additionally including existing reality stars felt forced for the sake of drama. This is a show reflecting the complexities of trust and manipulation. It did not require egotists shouting over each other for the sake of entertainment. Moreover, two particular contests know each other which immedietly creates bias. A real shame.
...this game is better when it is played by "civilians".
When it's "real people" like in the British version, the paranoia is real and much more papable, than when it is reality professionals who, while they attempt to "act" shocked/scared/angry/paranoid/etc., can't quite pull it off, and often over-act.
Add to that I find it hugely annoying that production is shooting snippets with contestants lounging in ther pyjamas in a castle bedroom, or splashing around in a castle bath, or some other thing meant to convey they actually stay at the castle, when the reality is none of them stay at the castle overnight, they are all driven to separate secluded hotels/AirBnBs, because that is the only way to avoid the traitors getting caught, when they do traitors work after bedtime, and the castle doesn't have enough rooms for them all.
That being said, it IS much more action packed than the "civilian" version, because the reality pro's play hard from the start, especially those with a backgound in competition shows.
So it's more action packed, but it doesn't have the delicious constant tense feeling of the civilian one.
I watch it, and I will continue watching, but I wish it was slightly better.
