This movie hit all the marks with its inspiration from the book. It showcased the book so perfectly making the characters and storyline come to life. It depicts empowerment though yoga with a side of life circumstances. Highly recommended !!
I am committed to Tosca Musk's vision with Passionflix and while I have not read Resisting Roots...I am going to assume she stayed as true to the source material as she did with her other movies and series like Driven and Gabriel's Inferno. I have a lot of respect and really appreciate her tackling popular romantic fiction and trying to bring them to life on screen. As with all things journeys aren't always perfect, but I for one am enjoying the ride.
Ok, now the review...was this my favorite of the passionflix offerings, no, but was it a good romantic film-yes. It had all the element of romance, including a little drama. The lead actress, Elizabeth Posey, was phenomenal and really made this film work (don't loose her). I thought the male lead, Lou Ferrigno Jr (any relation to the real Hulk that I grew up with?), was a little rough in the beginning which did add some awkwardness...but settled down and seemed to find his stride more in the middle of the film. I think some of his deliveries were a little too fast paced and short...but that may just have been the direction that he was given. The supporting cast was great, especially the kids, and it was fun to see Tosca Musk herself in a bit role as the chakra aligning "Crystal".
The story was good enough that I am inspired to read the book (which I haven't) and had me waking up the next morning after dreaming about yoga! (So, thanks for that!)
I think romantics will enjoy this film along with other Passionflix fans. I don't think it will break into my top offerings on Passionflix: Driven, Dirty Sexy Saint, The Will, Afterburn, and the Gabriel's Inferno series...but still a recommendation to see.

I'm a secret fan of the cheesey Hallmark movies, something about the unrealistic romance that I enjoy. This movie definitely fits into that category. I thougt the leads did a pretty good job, the story was the predictable romantic cheddar that one who chose to watch this would expect. I really enjoyed that some characters swore and that there were some fairly raunchy sexual moments that are more realistic even if they seemed to progress faster then they likely would in real life. It's kind of nice to see a Hallmark type movie that isn't so clean cut.
One thing that really bothered me though is trying to pass the Mustang off as a Shelby. Why try to fake something that was so insignificant?

Don't waste your time on this misogynistic, unintentionally creepy, garbage, funded by an unattainably wealthy, vapid, caricature of a human. Ferrigno Jr. Is supposed to be a "romantic" lead, but he's just the most terrifying version of every controlling, abusive, meathead who has never suffered any consequences for any of his actions getting exactly what he wants, all of the time. I fear for this woman's safety under the most vulnerable of life's circumstances. Girl. Blink twice if you need help.
This is clearly a film for extremely GREEN actors. Yikes. Being "attractive" won't cut it in Hollywood. If you want to be taken seriously, please cast attractive actors that can actually act. I watch them all the time on Lifetime and Hallmark.
Making a film is tough- making a film that's entertaining? Pretty low hanging fruit. Making a film that hits in an emotional level, as well as entertaining? Cast talent.
Pay for talent.
