The Bastard Son

The film The Bastrd Son was like watching a film from the 1980s. The image quality isn't really good but back then you had other factors that made it good. Like a plot. Like action. Like funny lines. None of which this movie had. I watched it on Amazon Prime last night as a friend was in the film. What a mistake.

The only thing I enjoyed was the music but the music did not fit the scenes. There is only one thing I liked about the movie was that in the 2 hour run time I could shut it off and put a good movie on instead. The movie editing looked like it was done in Microsoft paint. Please, please don't watch this. Watch any other movie.

War is mainly a catalogue of blunders. This was an absolute blunder from start to finish. This was a poorly convinced idea that had bad acting, bad editing, bad sound. It looked like they had tinfoil on the camera to give it a tinted look. It is a mistake to try to look too far ahead. The chain of destiny can only be grasped one link at a time. Saddly, enough this film was missing many chain links as one scene from another transcended into a bad acid trip or like some students decided to get together and make a film and run around in circles. This was the outcome. Either way everything was wrong. The way they filmed it was most distracting. The fight scenes were sloppy, one scene at a beach the lead actor was on his back and the next scene he magically was standing up. Watched this on Amazon, Oh boy this one needs work. If you think it's a good movie you must have your eyes closed during watching. It's a two rated movie for me.

In this story the anti hero is someone you can genuinely sympathize with after viewing the event that sends him on a bloody Vendetta. Organized crime,Human Trafficking, and cold blooded murder are on full display,and the locales where the action scenes are filmed are outstandingly grim and neo noir-like,and they make you think this is happening right outside your window. Unfortunately I found some scenes very hard to follow,since some dialogue is too faint to hear. Many shots are out of focus. Others have the characters with their backs turned or their faces blotted out by by poor lighting, Or they're cut out of frame entirely. Some of the CGI could have been substituted with simple Practical FX and looked better. All in all this could have been a very good revenge story if more planning had been made by the film crew.

Absolutely I recommend this movie that has a realistic and true and relatelable story line.

Writers, producers, directors, crew and cast all great accomplishments. Alisa Velasquez definitely positive recognition in this movie and a promising future with her beautiful song, 'That Kind of Love'. A favorite now.

Addicting intense drama starts from beginning to the end with constant action with the brother and his love and loyalty for his family and not resting until he avenges his sister's assault and trauma. True to life story and reality of the violence happening every day in our cities and towns.

While this "film" attempts to navigate a unique storyline, the execution falls painfully short. The film's low-budget appearance is glaring, lacking the finesse even expected from independent productions. The cinematography's misguided angles and questionable lighting choices distract from any semblance of a cohesive visual narrative.

Unfortunately, the soundtrack, intended to enhance the experience, overshadows the dialogue, creating an imbalance that hinders the audience's engagement. The casting choices raise eyebrows, as the performances come across as amateurish, leaving viewers questioning the director's selection process.

In the realm of filmmaking, it struggles to find its footing, delivering a cinematic experience that falls beneath the standards set by even modestly budgeted independent films. One can't help but wonder if a more discerning approach to direction and casting would have salvaged this unfortunate endeavor.
