Penthouse's 'PotY 2006' has the distinction of being the last DVD video release from the company that had seen better days. It retains the simple latter day format albeit from different people behind the camera as the 2004, 2005 vids. Perhaps explaining why an already glossy look kicks into overdrive & juicy explicit shots of the past are very much long gone. An okay watch, but not much to love about it.
"Intro" is your typical montage, cheap dated title cards and words from Jamie Lynn (40 secs). "Jamie, Ashley & Cassia" - PotY 2006, Dec 2004, Apr 2005 respectively - see them all meet up in the entry way of a mansion first getting solo moments before very lite girl/girl touching. A good closeup or two, but a level of tame verges on being a bore (7.5 mins). "Jamie" leads to an obvious solo, but starts off with more brief words from the lady. She looks good - always did - but heavy saturated lighting, shots that miss the mark keep it feeling 50/50 as she goes from sitting in a chair to naked on a bed (7.5 mins). "Jamie & Rita" is an Oriental inspired bit, Jamie fully nude at the start, Rita pours milk over her and she stays the focus for much of it then Rita loses her clothes. In vogue with everything that came before it ... feels pretty plain (7 mins).
"Jamie & Cassia" see the two in a bedroom where bras, panties don't stay on very long. Nice closeups, teasing compliment them before they hit a big bathtub. There's a preference for a closeup of Jamie's kitty from behind multiple times which usually would be a good thing, but it's repetitive with no movement, nothing actually going on. The quiet nature, simple visuals end up sinking this scene (6 mins). Now Jamie goes solo in a bedroom where slow mo gets put to use. Some good closeups stop the scene from being a waste, but the glamorous style of shooting going on isn't the greatest at times (6.5 mins).
"Jamie, Ashley & Cassia" takes us outdoors where all in matching blue jean shorts, white tops wash, soap up a sports car, themselves. It's one of those scene types that on the surface that seems to be a winner, but the way it was shot left me cold (6.5 mins). Back inside the luxury mansion so "Pet Of The Year Runner-Up Cassia Riley" can get her solo on. Bra, panties on and then off is the routine. A slow nature is bailed out by some decent visuals of the closeup type though it wears out it's welcome before the end (7 mins). "Pet Of The Year Jamie Lynn" back outside at night as she emerges from a luxury car taking off a black dress, shades to expose lingerie underneath. A boost in attitude make it much better than her first solo (7 mins).
'PotY 2006' in a roundabout way serves to mirror the once prominent company Penthouse - a shell of it's former shelf. Those pleased by a very simple experience will enjoy the visuals, Jamie Lynn fans especially, but I've seen better, hotter material from both camps. There's nothing here to be get mad about, but not much to love.
