They Should have made this film with Tier 2 actors
This film is not exactly a frame-by-frame remake, but you can definitely spot its inspiration from the movie "Breakdown". However, the makers have spiced things up with a few fresh elements and a few unexpected plot twists, making it an engaging yet lengthy watch.
The storytelling is slow paced but thanks to an intriguing screenplay that keeps you hooked. Unlike the usual Star studded commercial entertainers loaded with formulaic sequences and dance numbers, this film dares to be different.
Now, let's talk about Ajith - the man of the hour! He appears in four distinct looks across different timelines, and except for the black-bearded one (which is debatable), he looks effortlessly stylish and dashing. His performance? One of his career-best! He nails the emotional scenes, dominates the action sequences, and is absolutely charming in the romantic portions.
Trisha, on the other hand, is a vision of beauty, especially in the flashback sequences. Her acting is subtle, natural, and simply top-notch. Together, Ajith and Trisha exude an international charm, making them look like stars straight out of a Hollywood film.
Antagonists Arjun and Regina deliver solid performances, adding more depth to the story. The rest of the cast does a commendable job too.
Coming to the technical aspects - the cinematography is stunning, with world-class color grading that enhances the visuals. The locations are breathtaking, making every frame a treat for the eyes. Music is pleasant, complementing the film well. Sets, costumes, and makeup are meticulously done, adding to the grandeur. And let's not forget the action sequences, which are choreographed brilliantly!
Magizh Thirumeni's direction is commendable.
Overall, this is a stylish, well-crafted film that is definitely worth watching!

No amount of style can make up for a lack of substance
Ajith's latest film, Vidaamuyarchi, is definitely leagues above the trash he's been in over the last few years. Good scripts seem to be this guy's kryptonite because there hasn't been a single decent Ajith movie since Yennai Arindhaal-a whole decade ago! And no, Nerkonda Paarvai was a disaster; cope harder.
However, when the first trailer for Vidaamuyarchi dropped a couple of weeks ago, it felt like this movie could actually be pretty decent if executed well. Watching it in cinemas reinforced that the execution is what ultimately holds it back from being a truly good film. The plot itself wasn't terrible, but the writing surrounding it felt completely unaware of the mess it was creating. Those flashback sequences and everything in the third act? A testament to that chaos.
The first half of the movie was surprisingly good, albeit a tad slow. It set up a few intriguing narratives that made us curious about where it was headed. But then, around 15 minutes into the second half, it nosedived into a predictable mess. You could practically see the rest of the movie unfolding: our hero takes down the villains, and you're just left waiting to see how quickly you can get home. Toss in a few unintentionally comedic moments, and you've got a film that squanders its potential as an action thriller.
Still, it's not a movie I'd outright advise against watching. While it's not a masterpiece, it's definitely not bad. Technically, it's very sound, featuring gorgeous cinematography and serviceable action choreography that will at least keep your attention. And as far as Ajith movies go, that's a win in itself. Let's just hope the next one is even better!

Looks like a hollywood movie🔥
Extraordinary screen play and AK, Arjun, Regina acting were speechless. You can see an new character shade of Ajith Kumar in this movie. Magizh thirumeni proves that tamil cinema also have a knowledge of making like a hollywood movie. First half was little bit slow especially AK and Trisha were going to the trip. First of all it's not a trip. That's their last trip together. They decided to take a divorce. After Arjun and Aarav's entry the whole movie was fire. As usual rocking star Anirudh plays a vital role. Background score like a fire, especially drum beat plays and suddenly stopped then audience will shout "Ajitheyyyyy".
Second half was unexpectable. I thought that second half also had a lag. But AK's character also change in the second half. This movie shows what happens when a common man gets angry. There is no punch dialogues and there is no commercial scenes and there is no audience favourable reference. It's just an action film to watch with your family. Overall don't expect anything, just go and watch the film. Definitely you will enjoy the film. At the end this is the real pongal by Magizh thirumeni.

What a waste of everyone's time
This movie doesn't deserve the hype, the budget or the actors or any amount of effort that was put into it. The first 20 mins I was really excited to enjoy the movie seeing such good cinematography but then everything quickly fell away. I know it's just a movie and logic thinking's not the right place to do it but come on, none of the scenes were natural, every interaction feels forced and there's literally no chemistry with any of the conversations. The scenes move just because, there's no logic to any of it. Too many pointless actions leads to pointless consequences which are dealt with in a pointless way. Clearly Anirudh also have up because the must, bg and everything just feels re-used and very lazy.
Don't even get me started with Ajeeth's acting. He's such a talented actor who didn't belong to this movie. Everyone's acting is just terrible in this and because of that Ajith's acting feels totally out of place.
Overall it's a movie that should not have happened.
