The film begins with a captivating first half hour that sets the stage well for a promising ride.
I was eager to witness more romantic elements unfold, along with a deeper exploration of the couple's marriage and their strained relationship.
Although I anticipated that it would soon shift into a rescue thriller, and indeed it did.
Unfortunately, from thereon the writing became increasingly messy, spiraling into chaos with each passing second.
Up until the intermission, it managed to keep my interest, but after that, the plot became overly convoluted, resorting to the clichés of typical Tamil mainstream cinema. As for the climax, it's best left unmentioned as it lost all coherence by that point.

Ajith's latest film, Vidaamuyarchi, is definitely leagues above the trash he's been in over the last few years. Good scripts seem to be this guy's kryptonite because there hasn't been a single decent Ajith movie since Yennai Arindhaal-a whole decade ago! And no, Nerkonda Paarvai was a disaster; cope harder.
However, when the first trailer for Vidaamuyarchi dropped a couple of weeks ago, it felt like this movie could actually be pretty decent if executed well. Watching it in cinemas reinforced that the execution is what ultimately holds it back from being a truly good film. The plot itself wasn't terrible, but the writing surrounding it felt completely unaware of the mess it was creating. Those flashback sequences and everything in the third act? A testament to that chaos.
The first half of the movie was surprisingly good, albeit a tad slow. It set up a few intriguing narratives that made us curious about where it was headed. But then, around 15 minutes into the second half, it nosedived into a predictable mess. You could practically see the rest of the movie unfolding: our hero takes down the villains, and you're just left waiting to see how quickly you can get home. Toss in a few unintentionally comedic moments, and you've got a film that squanders its potential as an action thriller.
Still, it's not a movie I'd outright advise against watching. While it's not a masterpiece, it's definitely not bad. Technically, it's very sound, featuring gorgeous cinematography and serviceable action choreography that will at least keep your attention. And as far as Ajith movies go, that's a win in itself. Let's just hope the next one is even better!

Have lost hope on AK. The three V's with Shiva have literally made to hate him for his script selection. The last liked movie was Yennai Arinthal. Valimai and Thunivu were kind of bits and pieces movie. When it came from H Vinoth i understood that it was AK who is clueless not putting any effort to get better out of himself even basics like get ups, looks or dialogue delivery
However in Vidaamuyarchi though still not upto Yennai Arinthal it was a good watch. Credit to Magizh. AK is still AK. He acts like he is all goodness and modern version of Maryadha Purushothaman Raman. Loves his wife even if she had an affair, Wastes his bullets, arrows only below the knee of goons and quite funny he never even attempts to kill the villian in the end the villian gets fed up of his begging " en manavi enga"and kills himself. AK's pureness of heart Kind of over kill. The one dialogue he attempt in the petro bunk is cringy and he was rightly called as boomer for that. Thankfully there is no transformation scenes or mass punch dialogue.
Overall a bearable movie from AK after a decade.

As a fan, my opinion is, a decent watch with good cinematography and good performances. Especially AK has given his best. Please don't go by reading or watching all reviews. People form different opinions based on their unique experiences,
