Witchy Ways

The only things I knew for sure when I arrived at the theater were that the leads were two stunning women, the film was made by a woman, and there was going to be some magic and witchery along the way. Already a great start.

Well, turns out it has so much I love in a movie, all wrapped up in a beautiful, funny, supernatural, sexy, rom-com.

Stories of family. The regrets and guilt carried when a loved one is gone too soon and we know we let them down... and the road to healing. Stories of opening your heart. Letting someone in at the most vulnerable time in your life. Learning it's okay not to carry the weight of the world on your own. Stories of love. The magic of discovering there is someone who is actually there for you... and it turns out they are the one. Your one.

It gives us all hope. It gave me hope.

And I'll tell you what, I walked out of the theater feeling a shift. A witchy magical shift. I still feel it.

I liked this film's message about the importance of being brave enough to look inward while also being brave enough to reach out for connection to others, and how each act serves the other when done w the right intentions. A Beautiful film, both visually and spiritually!

Those of you who have seen other Jane Clark films will recognize her distinct "flavor", both visually and in "feeling" as well as her expansion as a film maker as she tried new things. The special effects are delightful and really bring the viewer into the "witchy and ghosty" experiences of the characters themselves. Enjoy this bewitching experience!

Director Jane Clark has a way with erotic chemistry and playful connection between characters, and especially lesbian characters. This is a refreshing take on a ghost story, and the power of love and magic. The story revolves around a woman who feels lost and heart-broken but it's handled with a light mystical touch and is so fun to watch.

Supernatural romantic comedy with some of the best make-out and sexy scenes we've seen lately. Bonus fun from Candis Cayne as Eve's skeptical best friend. Gorgeously shot in Topanga Canyon with compelling and hot lead cast makes this a magically delicious movie.

Witchy Ways is the perfect blend of light, witchy charm and heartwarming romance-a delightful escape during these divided times. The film follows Danni and Eve through their personal and romantic journeys, all under the watchful eye of the moon, serving as a mystical timekeeper. I caught this recently at the LA Femme film festival, and it really exceeded my expectations. Just a warm, funny, well-put together movie. The actors are great, the story flows well, the plot makes sense. I was absorbed from the start and never lost interest. The two leads have a good romantic chemistry - you want them to end up together.

I also liked seeing a movie set in Topanga Canyon - sort of a magical place up in the Santa Monica Mountains near Malibu. Really beautiful little world, and kind of the perfect location for some modern witches to make a bit of magic. Great movie to curl up and watch with a glass of wine on a rainy day.
