End of the World

Reasonabilism is seemingly a parody of Scientology. The cult began with Lou Prozotovich's instructional book "Organize It," not unlike L. Ron Hubbard's book "Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health," which led to the creation of Scientology. The Reasonabilists believe Zorp will destroy mankind with his volcano mouth, and, according to Scientologists, Xenu destroyed the citizens of the Galactic Confederacy by detonating hydrogen bombs in volcanoes. The current edition of "Dianetics" features a volcano on the cover. Also, the cult was called "Reasonabilism" because "if people criticize them it'll seem like they're attacking something very reasonable," and Hubbard named his church "Scientology" to capitalize on the "prestige and perceived legitimacy" of natural science.

The ID that Jerry shows Tom says "Garry Gergich. Start date 9/27/77. Title: Office Manager." Previously, it was established that his first name is really Gerald (of which Jerry is a diminutive). It is not explained here why the ID says Garry, which is a diminutive of Garret or Garth.
