The Misadventure of Unlikely Heroes

I've waited for this movie FOR EVER. I've been a fan of Basement Reels for a while and my expectations were high. Waiting for this long, I feared the storyline wouldn't be as good as I thought. Oh boy was I wrong. It was WELL worth the wait! The storyline was like of a Tamil movie. It was so interesting my eyes were glued to the screen the entire time. Truly didn't expect something like this happen. It was better then actualy Tamil movies I've seen. PLEASE MAKE MORE MOVIES. So many plot twists, it was the best movie I've seen in 2023. Well done Krusan and Tharshan! It had all the genres in one movie.

The movie was captivating from the beginning to the very end. The storyline was easy to follow and it kept you at the edge of your seat during every scene. Overall the movie was shot to well and the cinematography was on point (loved the lighting choices and the camera angles for certain scenes). The drones shots were my absolute favourite! Acting from all the actors/actresses were phenomenal. Everyone played their characters very well. I personally loved the character Vijay and I thought Tharshan Raj did an amazing job with his acting skills! Great work Basement Reels team, and can't wait to watch more movies in the near future.

Just got around to watching this film and it was a treat! The characters were fleshed out, the cinematography was fantastic, and the story was captivating! It kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. The various issues they tackled, from their main plot, to the subplots of this film, were all very interesting and grounded, with some being very emotional. The film really made me feel like Vijay and Chris could be any one of us being thrown into such a weird and sinister situation. The acting was also really well done by the entire crew, everyone sold their performances. Looking forward to more Basement Reels films!

Anyone who has seen a Basement Reels production before can understand the amount of care and dedication they put into their work. This movie was no expectation. The mystery and suspense of this movie leaves one wanting more, and alongside the perfect amount of comedy, not undermining the entire movie, makes sure you do not forget that this is a Basement Reels production.

The characters were well developed and had their individual arcs, which, by the end, culminated in a ending that was extremally satisfying. Each character had a well developed personality and backstory, and yet the film did not seem cluttered what so ever.

Overall, the movie truly gets you invested in the story and gets you to care for the protagonists' plights. I hope to see more of their productions in the future and wholeheartedly recommend this movie to lovers of mysteries and comedies alike.

Basement Reels have always been amazing in their way of making viewers reflect on serious topics with a comedic flair through their skits, reels and videos. The Misadventures of Unlikely Heroes had that exact Basement Reels touch, focusing this time on the pandemic and the issues surrounding it, in terms of trust, political and medical stance, and herd mentality versus opposing views. Krusan and Tharshan and the rest of the cast acted wonderfully, making us laugh, think and at times, tear up! The movie was entertaining from start to finish, and I enjoyed it so much the first time, I had to go back to watch a second time! I highly recommend this movie! Basement Reels definitely set the bar high for their first movie, it's definitely going to get bigger and better here on in!
