Dojo

I've seen Dojo many times and I consider it a little masterpiece! It is a project realized in a professional way, with an amazing cinematography. In our Wild Filmmaker Festival circuit we have awarded Dojo several times because it's a perfect example of an indie action movie. I hope to see a feature version of Dojo!

It is not easy to produce an action movie, we all know that important budgets are needed, but a team of artists with the right idea and the right skills can realize any enterprise. I am convinced that Dojo is the first great step of a fantastic journey.

Dojo is a powerful gem of martial arts cinema! If you know about story and film and what it takes to make a good one, you'll enjoy this film! It's as perfect as a martial arts film can be! Jon Paul's performance as the lead actor is excellent and so is martial arts choreography which is as real as it gets! The actors are real martial artists doing what they do best and then some! Because the acting is spot on, natural and believable. The story takes precedence which is something that really made me happy! Character, theme and plot are synchronized! This story is very well written!

The film's cinematography superb! The film in general is very engaging from start to finish and I enjoyed every single minute of it! Dojo is an absolute stunning masterpiece of martial arts cinema! I highly recommend it to everyone! Especially to martial artist and martial arts enthusiasts!

The production and quality of film is next level and I am happy to find out that this short film has won so many awards worldwide. It definitely deserves it! This is the new talent that should be paid attention to!

DOJO was an extraordinary experience from start to finish! You can feel the thrill of the music, cinematography, cool fighting moves and talented acting cast and what they were able to do with a limited environment and resources! I felt enjoyment of witnessing the unpredictability of the storyline and how it is open to multiple interpretations which could be a possible dream sequence, a vision, a projection based on one's confidence, or even maybe Alfonso Lucas secretly being Shane Lucas from the future guiding his past self what to do. This movie cures boredom and deserves multiple sequels! 😎🔥

Difficult to write what makes this short film remarkable. The martial art scenes, no doubts. Like the traces of story , as a smart crafted drawing. The flash backs , in same measure . Not the last, the nice performances.

A man before a martial arts competition in dojo of his father. Five guys entering inn and remembering the bitter consequences of leave of Yakuza against the status of favorit of leader. So, the fights . The tensioned moment, when all seems lost, especially the life of Shane Lucas. And the turn of situation.

Not great, not remarkable, easy to define it as simplistic. But correct in high measure , some touching, some motivational. And it is enough, I suppose, not only for action films fans.

DOJO is a Great Short Action Film that should be a full length Feature Film! Jon Paul has made the old school martial arts film current and exciting again. I appreciate the authentic technique and level of mastery. The beautiful cinematography and edits drive the story forward. It will be interesting to see the characters and story developed for a broader audience. In film, every element counts, the lighting, sound and camera angles all matter. It's also refreshing to see well trained martial artists as the characters. I highly recommend DOJO to a regular audience and especially to martial arts students who want to learn how it's really done!
