When someone invites a new roommate into their home, they should do so with a mindset of mutual respect and cooperation-not hostility and control. Unfortunately, there are situations where people act like they're doing someone a favor by offering a room, only to turn around and make that person's life miserable. They hover, nitpick, and micromanage every aspect of the newcomer's behavior, turning what should be a home into a prison. It's frustrating and unfair. These people need to back off and let the new roommate breathe.
No one wants to move into a space where they're constantly walking on eggshells. Imagine moving into a new place, maybe after a stressful life event or a major transition, and being met not with kindness or even neutrality, but with coldness, control, and condescension. That's not hospitality-it's hostility. When someone joins a household, it's natural that there will be some adjustments on both sides. But there's a massive difference between setting reasonable boundaries and trying to dominate or police someone's every move. Some roommates forget that the person moving in is a human being, not an intruder or a subordinate.

Listen, I'm not saying that this is excellence in television but I am rapt. I keep hoping that a former inmate with an ounce of sense will emerge but so far... no such luck. The ingratitude and refusal to seek work is astonishing. There is this guy, Bill, who sits around eating pepperoni sandwiches all day in a vegetarian home. He hasn't lifted a finger since he arrived, causes constant problems, and seems to be a compulsive liar. The others aren't even trying to be respectful guests or to pay their way, and it is incredible how determined some of them seem to be to go back to prison. So it is frustrating but there is never a dull moment!
This stuff was cool in the 70's when it was a one shot special, talked about the next day at work or school and then forgotten. Its either staged, or, someone is really good at finding dumb people for tv shows.
Like free credit report dot com, the problems shoulda been seen comin', like an atom bomb. The concept is interesting, and the cons may be real, but the apparent lack of preparation of their hosts and themselves is a huge plot hole. The shame is, that there may be real cons who need a break, and real hosts that could be an effectively positive influence on them. That would have been interesting.

I don't usually like documentaries but my cousin will be up for parole in another 15 years soooooo this is actually pretty interesting. The vast majority of the "returning citizens" are mind blowingly delusional AF. I am only on episode 4 but I have no doubt that DQ will be back in prison by the end of the season. All he has to say to excuse his disrespectful behavior is he's white I'm black. He managed to go into prison at 17 stay there for 7 years and not mature a single day while he was in there. Go back to where you belong sir. I feel bad for the guy that moved in with the religious couple but he has no intention of being anything but a leach either way, talking about wanting them to move his girlfriend in, lol... go eat your meat in the yard with that attitude sir. You would really wish that you could find a glimmer of hope that maybe people really do deserve a second chance or that people really can change or something, anything that would make people feel for other people in this situation but the only thing you really see is the AUDACITY. Non stop delusion and audacity on this show.
If I lived with someone like Cindy and I just got out of prison, she would cause me not only to want to do drugs, but to drink as well. She is a miserable, miserable individual and acts like a damn drill, sergeant. She is a miserable human being anyone if they want to be 100% honest can say when you look at her, she looks miserable as she wants this poor girl to be miserable. Misery loves company and this is a fine example. God bless this girl. They need to get her out of this house. ASAP my Gosh, if anybody is watching this show that is with the legal system, please remove this girl from this house. This woman would cause anyone to rebound my goodness. My heart breaks for this young girl. She is living with the drill, surgeon kind of like she's back in prison again if you think about it. My prayers go out to her. Jennifer don't keep relapsing and don't cry. Think you're a smart individual call the legal department whatever you have to do and explain how miserable she is and she expects you to be her servant. They will agree with you that you shouldn't have to do this and they will find another place for you to go, dear don't put up with this miserable human being.
