I have to be honest i dont usually care too much for low budget movies and the flyer can be misleading, but this film comes across as a hidden gem. The overall screenplay flows, yet not perfect it still gets the job done better than most films. The lead actor as Byron carries the film pretty well and i wouldn't be surprised if he becomes a star in the industry. In addition, Mickey as his surrogate father adds more value with his blazing performance. As an drug dealing action drama that highlights the importance of family while striving for a better life i would highly recommend anyone to watch.

Every now and then a low budget film comes around that stands out. This movie is one hundred percent one of those movies. A non-convoluted plot, cool action sequences, and some great acting performances all come together to make this movie shine. Lead actor Marquis Moodie is someone to watch with his intense yet subtle and vulnerable portrayal of a young man at a crossroads in his life. And let's not forget to mention Nino Cimino playing Mickey, that performance was just brilliant. Cimino steals every scene that he's in, and rightfully so. You got to check this movie out, believe me, you will thank me afterwards.

What a truly baffling movie.

-Bad dialogue -Acting ranging from the most wooden performances I've ever seen to just ridiculously over the top.

-Color grading and lighting that doesn't match from shot to shot in the same scene.

-Random scenes where the stereotypical mafia character (played by the writer/executive producer) just argues with his wife.

-One of the worst twist endings I've ever seen.

And you'd think this was made by someone just starting out but NO. This is the 29th film Greg Hatanaka has directed/DPed (and his 18th in the last 3 years)!

And then you see the credits and realize most of the crew was just 4 or 5 people that each worked in at least 3 different positions in addition to serving as some kind of producer and it starts to make sense. For example, the production manager was also a camera operator, a first assistant camera, the fight choreographer, and a sound guy.

This was a bad movie. Like a REALLY bad movie. But it was so bad circled back around to being a good watch. I'm honestly surprised to find out that Greg Hatanaka isn't some prolific good bad movie guy but apparently almost all his movies have <200 watches on here and I'm the first person on this site to log this movie.

So if you like bad movies, get high with some friends, pull this up on tubi and have yourself a good time.

I found this movie to be very enjoyable. Byron, a young man deciding if he wants to keep following his surrogate father Mickey, in a life of crime, or leave town with his girlfriend and give it all up. Besides the action and drama, at the heart of the story is the relationship between the characters Byron and Mickey. This is a story about family, which is evident by their surrogate father-surrogate son relationship. Marquis Moodie is very talented in the lead role of Byron, and Nino Cimino turns in another powerful scene stealing performance as Mickey. I highly recommend this crime story about family.
