At one time I liked Jeff Dunham and his puppets I thought he had a nice twist on. The human experience and his puppets made me laugh. But now his comedy just leaves me totally cold now.
I guess his last specials have become so political that I find myself just being annoyed . If I waned politics I could go to Fox or MSNBC.
Maybe I am missing something but didn't the Jeff Dunham comedy specials used to be family friendly to a point, but this fare misses anything that could be friendly family. And the sexual stuff just is tacky.
I suppose if you want some off color comedy from a performer who seems to have lost what was endearing, then go for it.

Right, well as the opportunity presented itself to sit down and watch "Jeff Dunham: Me the People", of course I did so. However, while I am not overly much a fan of Jeff Dunham, then this wasn't really something that had me worked up. But I still opted to watch it, as I hadn't seen it.
There is good news here for the fans of Jeff Dunham, because "Jeff Dunham: Me the People" does follow the formula that he has been running on for years and somewhat perfected, I suppose. So if you like his previous many shows, then you will also enjoy this one.
Personally then it is always Peanut that steals the show, and it was no different in "Jeff Dunham: Me the People", because Peanut was spunky, energetic and, well, being Peanut.
The material in "Jeff Dunham: Me the People" was good, and there were some good laughs here and there, and Jeff Dunham does take some good jabs at the current US president, as well as today's society with the sad addiction to mobile devices. So he does work some interesting contents into his routines.
Yeah, I was entertained by watching "Jeff Dunham: Me the People", however it is hardly something I will return to watch a second time.
My rating of "Jeff Dunham: Me the People" lands on a five out of ten stars.

I'm a big fan of ventriloquists, starting as far back as Edgar Evans and Charlies McCarthy and Paul Winchell and Jerry Mahoney. I've enjoyed many since, especially Terry Factor, Puff the Magic Dragon, and Jeff Dunham. But every ventriloquist reaches a point where he should zipper his mouth and Dunham is fast approaching that time.
Dunham, at his peak, was maybe the best ever for being able to say stuff without seeing his lips. No more. Even the simple stuff is revealing now, though his attempts to re-direct are good. Simply - he lost the skill. He's still OK, and probably better than OK, but he no longer is what he once was.
Maybe more disturbing, his comedy isn't that funny, and never was, but this film has some really disgusting parts. There is a place for disgusting stuff in some stand-up comedy, but IMO it doesn't belong in a puppet show.
If you're a fan, miss this one or it may change your opinion. If you're Dunham reading this review, time to consider retiring while you still have a reputation to protect.

Great to see the old gang back, as well as some new faces. This was entertaining start to finish, and Dunham manages to touch on every relevant subject in today's current social environment with style and laughter. Walter as Biden was hilarious but Jose and his new identity was the best, especially his interactions with Peanut. Name a better duo, I'll wait. It's a shame Ahmed was retired, he was one of the best and original characters, but I guess every comedian has to make adjustments to culturally fit in. Luckily Dunham still squeezes in some inappropriate shocks here and there. This was much better than I expected - not his best, but still better than many recent comedy shows. A well deserved 9/10 from me, and will be watching this again many times for sure.
So excited to be able to watch this at home on Paramount+! Jeff's delivery is always on point and I can't stop laughing when he brings Peanut on stage - Dunham's humor is as sharp as ever in MTP, it's a must-see for fans and newcomers alike.
And honestly, if you need a good laugh, Jeff Dunham's "Me The People" is the perfect remedy - it's funny, irreverent, and just plain entertaining. I watched MTP with my family and we were all in tears from laughing so hard. He brought out the lovable characters we all know and it makes for a hilarious show with some of the fresh ideas Dunham approaches. Worth the watch!
