Want to see what happens
Seems like (another) journey just starting and want to follow them. Leaves on a sentiment of what was like. Of being there, wondering what these characters go on and do. Feel like just started and want to follow them.
Could writer at least "owe" us a story in a vlog or book? Would really like to know how their next journey goes. Must be some way to address that, either in a second season and/or the prequel idea. Could do a spot on what happened to Shawnee. Could see Isaac in a recall, for sure in prequel.
Leaves you wondering of experiencing in real time what they did. As you drive on a freeway, next to Fort Bridger, or along the trail where they would be going one day, wondering if safe, or about water. As you drive by, looking out window and... that spot just over there... could be where such and as in the story, stood discussing.

Good last episode if a bit predictable
Greetings from Lithuania,
Episode 6 was the last episode of "American Primeval" - an involving, brutal, realistic story. I liked it again as the entire series - great cinematography, acting, and directing. Although the ending and how it all ended was predictable and the ending is very conventional - so nothing new here.
Overall, last episode was good, well paced but a bit to much predictable.

Ruined the Series
Up until this episode we had a captivating story full of grit and great characters. However, the finale fell flat on its face and ruined the story. The leading female protagonist was done dirty by a love story that was forced, the character's emotional range from crying uncontrollably to utter stoicism killed any sense of reality. This is the greatest flop of a finale since Game of Thrones and if there is another season I will not give this series another chance because I don't trust the writers.
"Episode #1.6"
The final episode of "American Primeval" promised a lot, especially after the brilliance of the penultimate episode, and for the most part it delivered.
Suffice it to say, all the various plot lines are resolved...though the suspicions that I voiced in an earlier episode's review about whether there would be anyone left alive - good guy or bad - to have get a Happily Ever After definitely rang true.
Like the previous five episodes, it was brutal and unflinchingly graphic, with plenty of dead people on both sides of the ledger. It wouldn't be "American Primeval" otherwise.
Peter Berg and Mark L. Smith crafted a brilliant show, and the cast - Taylor Kitsch especially - helped bring the story to life. Fantastic stuff,

Mediocre end to what could have been a brilliant series
American Primeval started very well, proving itself not your average Western. Very gritty and action-packed and no clear good guys vs bad guys scenario but rather factions of self-interested people, some downright evil, trying to get ahead by screwing over the next person.
However, after a few episodes a pattern emerges and predictability sets in. The expendability of characters means you expect any character, no matter how important, to die at any moment, and they often do. This short life span also limits engagement with characters as what's the point of rooting for anyone?
This all comes to a head in the final episode where the expendability of characters is truly born out, making for a rather tedious, gratuitous culling of characters. Even worse, the writers throw in just about every cliché under the sun, making for a very unoriginal feel to the episode. While still reasonably entertaining, the finale is quite unsatisfying for all these reasons.
