Bela Luna

Well the show was "murder she wrote" ... well there is something else "she" is writing here ... though I reckon it does involve certain crimes too (murder would be too specific to be honest) ... also this is more ... it has an erotic touch to say it quite bluntly.

So while this does not only have people doing it (different places), the main focus is that. And as long as our main character is about to write something ... why not make it steamy? Well she has her own thoughts about that ... and is quite defying at moments. But don't be afraid, there is enough nudity and sexual situations ... you will not ... come undone or whatever that would be (another pun not intended for sure).

Be aware (and beware?) what this is and if it is something you want to watch. It does have some nice twists, but I would not say it is really good ... acting and otherwise ... still quite fun.

I had never heard about this 2023 Filipino movie titled "Bela Luna" prior to sitting down and watching it. However, I wasn't really harboring much of any grand expectations to the movie, as the last couple of Filipino movies I have watched were a bit too lewd and had too much pointless nudity in it.

Yet, I opted to give director Mac Alejandre's 2023 movie a fair chance.

And it was just another pointless, stupid and worthless movie that was revolving around a sort of lewd and sexual theme. These movies doesn't really paint the Filipino cinema in a particularly good light.

I managed to sit through half of the movie, then I just gave up out of sheer and utter boredom. There was nothing entertaining about watching the script that writer Ricky Lee had written to be brought to life on the screen. Sure, maybe if you are just out of your teenage years and starting to have an interest in all things sexual. But I sat down to watch a proper movie, not some pseudo-sleazy softcore pornography.

Needless to say that I wasn't familiar with the cast ensemble in the movie. Nor were I particularly impressed with what I was witnessing on the screen, as I think people were cast for "Bela Luna" on their willingness to take off clothes in front of the camera and not because of their acting talents.

And I can in all honesty say that I am not returning to attempt finish watching the rest of "Bela Luna", because it was just simply a waste of time.

My rating of director Mac Alejandre's 2023 attempt of making a movie lands on a two out of ten stars. The production value of the movie is what keeps it from landing on a bottom-scraping one star.
