"California Dreamin'"

The third 100 Days to Indy episode features on five drivers: four-time Indianapolis 500 winner Helio Castroneves, Graham Rahal, son of Indy 500 winner Bobby, rookie Kyle Kirkwood and ex-Formula One star Romain Grosjean and Pato O'Ward. It features the lead-up to the Grand Prix of Long Beach, the "Monaco of IndyCar", to steal a line from James Hinchcliffe, and an event that is the second-most prestigious in IndyCar racing.

This episode was notable for dealing with two drivers, Rahal and Castroneves, who are used to running at or near the front and who, for various reasons, are not there in 2023. And as David Letterman is a part-owner of Rahal's car, we get to see the wizened comedian make a couple of appearances, which is never a bad thing.

For mine, it's more impactful watching their struggles compared to watching guys like O'Ward, Newgarden, Herta and McLaughlin from previous episodes who are at the pointy end.

Another solid episode - so far, the series has shied away from stating the bleeding obvious and over-dramatising things like F1's Drive to Survive is sometimes guilty of.
