This series does bring a lot of pressing issues to the fore besides just climate change... the corruption that justifies the systemic elimination of indigenous tribes in the guise of fighting the naxal movement, the ruthless destruction of nature to fuel war whilst badgering about peace and cooperation.
There are things that could have been done differently and/or better. Very engaging till episode 6, and the besides the story, the credit also goes to the background score. Very haunting and immersive.
Hoping people watch this series because there is a need to remind ourselves that the most pressing need of this time is to stop the mindless exploitation of nature and those closest to if we truly believe in hollow slogans like one earth, one family, etc....

Excellent story telling. Superb quality for a home cinema. This fascinating series was a delight to see. Also, it's fun to watch in regional languages, especially the odia language. The story's twists and turns are riveting all the way through to the end. A second season, I hope, will be available shortly. The feelings are conveyed superbly. It's fascinating to see because of a unique quality it carries. The story is well-written and professionally performed, and it is realistic and effective in conveying a wide variety of emotions. The unexpected turns in the story are also well done. There needs to be more content in the future that focuses on Odisha. Everything about this has been wonderful for me. This is a performance no one should miss.
Again, Nila Madhab Panda is victorious. The Jengaburu Curse, his most recent series, is a masterpiece that will keep you on the edge of your seat. The entire cast and personnel of India's first Cli-Fi thriller deserve congratulations. This article examines the effects of capitalism in detail. It is meticulously planned and masterfully executed. Is development worthwhile if it costs human lives and the natural environment? Is it progress or unquenchable thirst that drives us forward? This notion is entirely debunked by The Jengaburu Curse. It has the potential to ignite a vigorous discussion. The exploitation of natural resources and human labour has been regarded for a very long time as a crucial aspect of progress. When did you last hear someone discuss environmental issues? In my opinion, Nila Madhab Panda has created a masterpiece with this series. Exceptional acting and an intriguing narrative. Fans of the genre should not pass up this opportunity.
Watched this with some speculation as there was no talk of this being a good one or not primarily because it was a Sonyliv series! Well I did watch it with some courage but wasn't disappointed with the storyline and twists but I'm really surprised why they would cash an unknown actress like Faria who just cannot act anything and simply ruined such a powerful character with terrible acting! Probably looks like a nepotism kind of an act because Nasser is the main character too but what a mistake! Whenever Faria is on screen it's unbearable to watch! A much better actress would have got this series so much more fame!
The show lives up to the hype and the suspense it promised in its trailer. The opening scene will make you rewatch it just to check if it's actually India! The story flows so beautifully through the episodes with some mind blowing shots and twists that keep you hooked throughout. The music is just mindblowing! I can't say enough about it. It just elevates the show to another level!
This is not your regular entertainment and will need some commitment and maturity to understand what it's trying to convey. Nila Panda's vision and focus on such an important topic is very timely especially given what the world is going through. Every episode ends at such a high, you want to know what happened next.
Some of the vfx was shody and some dialogues a little all over the place but I would discount that given the storytelling, action and direction which constantly commands your attention and keeps you gripped.
Special mention to all the artists who played the Bondria tribe. That old lady collecting the rice grains in her shawl made my heart ache.
There is so much we take for granted and this series is a wonderful reminder of that and so much more. Waiting for the next season!!
