Our movie industry is growing and how i loved is there is no words that can express here. Hope each and everyone can watch and feel it when you go through the odyssey of movie .A big Thumps up....
The movie, directed by Upendra Subba, has a poetic touch. It beautifully captures the essence of "Palam," a cultural tradition in Nepal's Limbu community. It presents a story about the subtle struggles and love shared between a husband and wife. Free from unnecessary drama, the film feels authentic and true to life, with every character contributing meaningfully to the story. The portrayal of human emotions is highly relatable, as it reflects familiar aspects of Nepal's patriarchal society, such as male pride, dominance, and the tensions that arise when a woman leaves her husband's home to stay with her father.
The title "Jaari" refers to a compensation that a woman's family must pay if she marries another man, a custom that points to a complex mix of freedom and responsibility for women. The film highlights that "Palam" is more than just singing and dancing; it embodies the essence of the Kirat people's culture, expressing love, wisdom, and the meaning of life. Interestingly, the main character initially dislikes "Palam" and lacks skill in its singing and dancing, but he eventually grasps its true essence and, in doing so, fights a way back to his beloved.
In conclusion, "Jaari" tells a powerful story of cultural understanding and personal growth, exploring the significance of tradition, family, and love in a way that resonates deeply.

Just love it. This is what we call movie. The best kinds of movies are the kinds that are so good that a person wants to be there. They want to be flying on a broom playing Quidditch with Harry Potter. They want to be riding a horse and whipping a whip with Indiana Jones. Movies like that are the ones that I love more than any other kind. My love of movies is so strong that it's affected my career choice in the future. My plans are to study film in college and go on to become a director. I've aspired to becoming a director, even from age nine, when I would take my family's video camera into my room and attempt to make movies. They looked really bad, probably because I was using an ironing board to hold the camera because I didn't have a tripod. They were really crude movies, but they were my movies. It was a great feeling knowing I had been able to make something similar to the movies that I love.
Movies are a huge chunk of my life, and they always will be. Without movies, I don't think I would be as creative as I am today. I hope that later down the road, I'll be able to make my own movies that people will love like all the movies that I love.

Just watched this movie in youtube. Simply amazing. Being a Nepali and from Newar community, I was totally unaware about how rich culture Limbu/Subba communty have and how they care about their daughters, daughter in-laws and women as a whole. But after watching the movie I grew great admiration for this community and felt prouder on how diverse our country is. Nice plot, great direction, good performances from principal and supporting cast. Unlike other Nepali movies, very limited dialogue for principal star cast but their body language and expressions speaks volume for them. A different story with organic taste. Simply amazing. Thank you Upendra Subba ji for this movie.
