Orlando Bloom: To the Edge

Whilst the free diving and skydiving episodes are very interesting...mr bloom really it's increasing irritating. Yes it's great to try and understand oneself and to be introspective..but dear lord, he does not stop banging on about himself!!! What makes him. Tick, why he thinks he is what he is. What he thinks has made him think he is what he is! Not one situation leads to Orlando not giving an 'Insight' into who he really is! Or worse still... how many times a day he works out. Or how much he pushes himself..always destined to go harder,faster, higher,deeper...duller!!! How Orlandos friends cope with the sanctimonious drivel is beyond me. The Chris Hemsworth series is more interesting and done by a guy who is just chilled. OB comes across as a guy who does a challenge, but Lord doesn't he know it!! And he will remind you of it forever more!

Orlando Bloom does an incredible job of choosing three activities that push the edge of human limits. He obviously doesn't even reach them in the short time he's given to learn these skills, but he demonstrates the capability of the human body and mind to push past what is known and comfortable. I appreciated his focus on his chanting practice and how it has been a grounding force in his life. The production, at times, was slightly overdone for my taste, hence the 8 stars. However, I think this series is a must-watch for those who, like me, who feel truly alive when you are closest to death.
