This series is a sci-fi where the main actor is living her 19th life as the title already suggests.
Great actors and acting but not much chemistry between the actors. Probably due to slow paced storyline which could have been difficult for the director to mold into something with more suspense and chemistry. The storyline itself is full of holes, meaning unrealistic situations or storyline that either make no sense or that feel too 'cold'. In addition there are way too many flashbacks and repetition of same frames. It must have been a hell of a job for the actors to work through this. Kudos to them and the entire team for sticking through it all and for delivering an acceptable result.
To the individuals who are pointing out that alcohol was invented in Iran and who are so upset: please don't be upset at this show. Be concerned about your leaders in your county who kills girls that wear no scarf and who have banned alcohol. Don't take this show as a documentary where every fact is correct. This show is a sci-fi and almost no facts in this show are correct or true. It's just for entertainment.
I would urge you to stop spreading hate and to start spreading love. It starts with YOU.

I have no idea how is this k-drama considered comedy. I was looking to watch a good comedy k-drama after finishing one comedy k-drama and liking it, only to end up surprised by this one. See you in my 19th life is a very tragic show, it represents melancholy and many other feelings and it definitely made me cry for hours although it's rare for me to feel this emotional over shows. If you're looking for a comedy show, this is NOT the one, I'm not sure of the original source material but the adaptation isn't comedy. But if you're looking for a show that will make you on edge and test your emotions and make you think about your priorities, then this show will make you have a good cry while doing so!
Another Hye-Sun Shin delight. She successfully gives us a character who is so enigmatic as to be utterly compelling to the very confused object of her love interest. In doing so she also draws us in.
The multiple lives plot device does require some explanatory effort from the series and at times it feels as if it is getting in the way of the romance. Gradually, however, I began to buy-in to what had at times felt like a distraction and gained a degree of buy-in to the need for her character to undo the "curse" that caused her to remember her past lives. Ando so the final episodes did have emotional resonance for me.
Overall a delightful series.

Despite a number of tragedies in our cute and cool protagonists' lives, their practical and sometimes surreal approach to things sets them apart from other fictional couples, making them very real and relatable.
The approach to romance is old-school yet the setting in the modern world is pretty astute. Nothing seems out of the place or unbelievable despite the fantastical setting. In keeping with the (thankfully) recent trends in doing away with the damsel-in-distress romances, our female protagonist is a doer rather than a dreamer, not leaving things to destiny and taking control of what she hopes from her life (or at least the one she is on!). I also loved the subtle subtext that the soul doesn't have a set gender-identity.
Recommend this fresh-take in characters from different lifetimes!

My favorite thing about this series is its plot. Not only is it something I haven't seen before, but it's also creative and heart-warming. The multiple stories we get to see are just so wonderful. Every story is thought out and touching. I will say that this series was slightly slow at some points, I also wish we could have seen even more of the 19 lives.
There is also just the perfect amount of characters to follow and fall in love with. And the actors do a great job, especially Shin Hye-sun, who manages to show such raw emotion in her delivery.
The cinematography in this series is also phenomenal.
