Nigel Ng: The HAIYAA Special

Just because 'Uncle Roger' is clever on YouTube and the film is on Disney+ does NOT mean this comedy standup special is especially family friendly. Nigel Ng uses some very adult language and he is guaranteed to offend almost everyone as he makes fun of things such as those who mask over concerns about COVID, people with food allergies, the Chinese Communist Party, Taiwan, pedophilia (at which time the crowd seemed to get rather quiet). I am NOT saying don't watch it or that the film is bad...it's just very adult and you should consider this if you are offended easily or you're going to watch it with your kids. Think twice about this!

The standup begins with Ng playing his familiar Uncle Roger character...the guy who makes fun of white folks badly making Asian food. Then, after a bit, he changes shirts and most of it is Ng as himself doing standup. It's funny at times...cringe-inducing a few others. Worth watching but definitely NOT for all audiences. He is at his best, however, when he talks to the audience and isn't on script...then he's very clever and funny.
