Wo de Altay

I would recommend this high quality mini drama series to anyone, no matter where you are from and which language you speak. The story itself is beautiful, with stunning scenes from northern Xinjiang, China and interesting characters, you will find it hard to stop watching and wanting to know more about the nomad community and their traditions and struggles with changes. I am not from that area and can't understand the Kazakh language, yet the stories make me resonate, sharing the pain and laughters with the characters and feeling warm and light-hearted afterwards. I am especially touched by the "mother" character in this TV series. She has shown me how to love, care and stand for the child. The best love is not to make your kids useful, but let them have the right to freedom and pursuit their own happiness.
