Reviewers say 'ManSuang' is lauded for its rich Thai cultural elements, traditional dance, and taphon drumming, alongside stunning visuals and vibrant costumes. The intricate plot, blending mystery, thriller, drama, and political intrigue, is highly praised. Performances, especially Apo Nattawin's, are noted for depth and emotional impact. The historical setting during King Rama III's reign enhances authenticity. However, some critique pacing, character development, and special effects, suggesting areas for improvement.

In this movie, there is no protagonist. The four people are all the protagonists. The cut of bas and tong are impressive. The cut of mile is relatively few, but his acting skills have improved a lot compared with the kp period. Apo's acting skills have regressed. I saw some photos of him learning to dance. Maybe my expectations for him are too high. He did not meet my expectations. I am a little disappointed. I think this movie can have more room for improvement. The emotional scenes of apo and mile are a little abrupt. The details are not particularly good. It looks strange. It is not as delicate as the emotional plot of kp, which makes the audience look a little redundant. The background music of the movie is very good, but it may not that match the movie. I hope the team can produce better works. If you want to bring the works to the world, please don't rely only on the support of fans. A movie that only fans watch is a failure.
#Mansuang, a wonderful retro Thai film that reflects Thai politics This is a very good photo, with an amazing perspective, a great sequence, and a great focus on every scene.
The magical thing about Po is that he is a charismatic leading actor. No matter which character he plays, we believe that the character is real. The burden on the main actors is enormous, but Po has already dealt with it. How did he do it because Porsche's character is Khmer? A unique and compelling story that captivates the viewer till the very end.
There are a lot of subtle and deep nuances in the plot that keep the viewers engaged and constantly guessing. The characters are well-developed, and their journeys are filled with unexpected twists and turns.
All the actors did an incredible job at playing their respective roles, bringing the characters to life with their exceptional performances.
The film's cinematography and visual effects further enhance the storytelling, creating a visually stunning experience for the audience. Additionally, the film's soundtrack perfectly complements the narrative, adding an extra layer of emotion and intensity to the overall viewing experience.
This movie truly has all the elements of a cinematic masterpiece. I strongly suggest seeing this film.

Overall 🍿: 7 - 7.5/10 based on the international movies we watched growing up.
Light/Cinematography/Songs: 10/10
Thainess: There could be much much more. If there was Thai festival celebration scene, it would be great. We would really like way more dancing scenes, even training scenes. Thainess or what is uniquely Thai, I think this can be explored much more and interwoven smoothly in daily Mansuang activities if this was a drama.
Storytelling: We feel its similar to the 90s HK movies. It's not complicated to understand. Dialogues can be better appreciated when watching 2nd round.
Editing: Some scenes can be viewed at 0.5x to be appreciated better. For example, emotional scenes, dancing scenes. Apo has many great scenes, but it flashed past too fast, there's no pause or 0.5x button in the cinema. Tbh, I think 2.5hrs would make the story more complete.
Plot/Pace: 1st 10mins or so, the pace and building of atmosphere was very good. Really well done. Apo did very well in those scenes. If it was kept that way, it would definitely lead to a thrilling suspenseful movie throughout.
The pace kind of dropped in the middle, during the investigations. Not sure if due to PG13, we felt it could be better in terms of sinister/evil/dark overall vibes. Personally, I didn't like the occasional humor in some scenes, but that could be a style.
Characters: For fans who have read the intro of each char before the movie, they will be able to appreciate the characters MUCH better and their actions. If not, 2hrs is insufficient for everyone to grasp everything. Special mention, crafting of Bas's char was well done esp his background.
Acting: Apo's scenes were very well done, we could watch him all day. His eyes were expressive and all emotional scenes were even more natural than in KinnPorsche. You can say he has improved by leaps! But the editing broke the flow of emotions invoked in me.
Watching the second round, I had more time to feel Khem. Other characters, had very good expressions and were natural. Esp the dark grey characters in this movie, they delivered their dialogues and expressions very well.
Overall, a 7 to 7.5/10 review, we feel its fair on international standards. We hope Mansuang can be made into a drama with more Thainess interwoven in it.

Just give it a try and you won't regret it ever. One of the best movies I have watched. I want to highlight Mile and Apo's acting. Specially Apo's acting was exceptional. All the actors have done a great job in conveying their characters. Specially the cinematography, visuals and camera work was in a really good quality. And the story line is even though it was bit fast forward that was really a good plot I must say. Want to watch it again so bad. I tried to avoid spoilers but I must say I really loved the way the movie interpreted chat and Khem's relationship. They were the sweetest. So I'm giving my rate as 10/10.
