The book "Hot Peppers" by Radoy Ralin, given back to Slavina by Nikola, is one of the few books that upon publishing, managed to bypass the Communist party's censorship. The book is a collection of illustrations and short aphorisms that indirectly critique the party's policies. Soon after its release, it was pulled off the shelves and around 20 000 copies were burned in an incinerator. Allegedly, the ovens were so overloaded that entire slightly charred books were shooting out of the chimneys.
